High-Level Project Summary

Idea of the project is to attract to scientific space data people who are interested in topics such as UFOs, paranormal, esotericism, astrology and other. It is a resource that provides our preliminary research results on incredible ideas . This shows how you can justify the possibility of craziest idea by uniting fields of science that have not previously intersected, or to do it in anew way. These studies not only provide answers, but also leave open questions and suggest solutions. Point is to show that even most incredible ideas can be substantiated, but for this it is necessary to use real knowledge in related fields of science.

Detailed Project Description

What does it do?

It inspires people to seek answers to difficult and controversial questions using scientific method and data to show that it is possible. There are many people, especially young, who are interested in all kinds of incredible and fantastic things. Such people often become fans of pseudoscientific ideas and scammers take advantage of this. As a result, these people are far away from science and do not realize their potential, although they still continue to strive for knowledge. Project aims to involve this category of people in the study of science without contradicting their interests. It shows that real answers can be found. Answers can only be found by combining different scientific disciplines.

We take any popular idea that official science is skeptical about (especially when it comes to space) and study whether it is possible in principle. Our interest is not in refuting or proving, but in making it possible in ways that are truly real and scientifically proven. The result of these studies is preliminary and cannot be considered a proven fact. It simply indicates the direction of research that needs to be done. We believe that any seemingly impossible idea has a rational grain, but for this to become real it is necessary to use more knowledge than before. As a rule, the explanation of seemingly incredible things is always possible only through the combination of different scientific disciplines. We create a possible concept and publish a review article that redirects the user to other sources with detailed information about the constituents of this. Such sources can be scientific articles, space data from NASA and other space agencies or scientific organizations.

How does it work?

Imagine that you are a non-scientific person who is interested in UFO technology, inertial propulsion, astrology and other similar things and think that NASA is hiding it. What does it give?

NASA and other reputable sources often disprove many of the untenable ideas. These denials are often not accepted by fans of incredible ideas and only give rise to new conspiracy theories. For example, NASA claims that astrology does not make sense

and thus opposes itself with a large number of people interested in the stars and planets. But instead one can say: Astrology? Quite possible! It's even interesting. But you must prove that the arrangement of the planets affects the fate of people. Forexample, you can combine NASA data on the relationship between the location of giant planets, tidal waves in the sun and its activity, space and earth weather, and link this with processes in the biosphere and society. Make statistics, conduct experiments and give a practical result, that is, the ability to accurately predict events in society by the location of the planets. To do this, you need to study different sciences and find a way to combine them. This approach will not only generate interest in scientific data among those interested in pseudoscience and force them to change their minds. Perhaps instead of proving astrology, they will end up making interesting discoveries and finding questions to be solved.

Here's another example - planet 9. Or look at it differently - is it possible to artificially support life on Earth if the Sun goes out, is it possible to change Earth's orbit and put it into orbit around another star? As you can see, these are fantastic super problems, but that is precisely why they are interesting to these people. Offer to find a practical solution to these problems, as if this is happening not with powerful aliens but with you. What will you do now? Show that this is not a secret but an unanswered question and you will make you think about complex things that combine knowledge from many areas. By showing an interest in dealing with such issues, you will take the place of imaginary gods, because you are doing incredible things here and now.

And of course the flat Earth. Why is this idea interesting? The fact that this is an artificial world, which can have any configuration you conceive. Offer to create such a world and those who are looking for simple answers will lose interest, and those who are seriously concerned about this issue will be convinced that it is not so easy. In other words, the idea is not to prove that it is impossible, but to show how it actually works, how difficult it is and how much knowledge it requires.

I say this because this is my experience and I understand people who find scientific knowledge boring simply because it does not meet their needs. But it gets interesting when you see a challenge that suits you. Then you start to learn and you understand that knowing only one scientific discipline you are you won't get it. Therefore, you start learning everything and see how it works together and what contradictions there are. In general, in order to use the full potential of different disciplines in a complex, you must set a transcendental goal and believe that this is possible.

Here's my story. It all started for me when I saw a strange dream in my childhood, in which I flew into space and saw many amazing things, including what is now called the planet Nibiru. I don't know how I could have seen this before it became an element of the culture. You cannot believe someone that this is not because the theory says so if this is an unforgettable experience for you. But when I wanted to find confirmation in alternative sources, I saw there a pile of unfounded speculations and an almost religious fanaticism in relation to this. The same goes for UFOs. We see some things that we cannot modify in any way, and official science legitimately uses Okama's razor, and alternative currents turn into sects.

Then I decided to believe only in what I can be convinced of on my own, since I was very interested in facts. And the best way to get them is by experiment. Once I remembered this and realized that the solar system is like a pendulum motor, such as what is called an unsupported motor, an inertial propulsion drive, or Dean's car. We know that this does not work if it is a closed system, but I believed in this simply because I did not understand how it works and many people talked about it, even launched it into space (Yubileiny satellite).

I was interested and I collected it from a cooler and two magnets. This simple design allowed me to quickly understand what the point is. I was especially surprised that it was sent into space when it was possible to simply drop it from a height to observe the displacement from the vertical. But I saw that this thing was funny moving bouncing and pushing off everything it came into contact with, and I thought that it could become a universal engine if it gets a universal fulcrum. There are problems with this in space, but I got the idea to use it in conjunction with a solar sail. After all, this engine does not matter what to start from, the main thing is that it perceives any resistance from outside and be tuned accordingly. I decided to test this idea in the air and made a rigid parachute like a solar sail, which I put this engine on to test it in free fall. From the sound, I understood that it was happening, it works because it changes the speed of rotation from the air pressure, but it was not effective to see the effect. Then I began to improve the design, to make the parachute stiffer, the engine more powerful and lighter, and so I built a whole mountain of flying saucers.

In the end, I got a noticeable result, but I could not fix it accurately due to technical difficulties associated with vibration and aerodynamic instability. But when I talked about it, people told me that it was impossible and I should study physics better. I talked with many specialists, but almost all of them had experience in one area and did not understand how this can be explained in general, since this concerned not only aerodynamics, but also fundamental physics. For some it works poorly, for others it violates the laws of mechanics. Someone admits such an effect, but does not see the significance in other areas of science where it is perceived as a violation of the foundations of thermodynamics. I was already ready to believe that this knowledge is secret, but later I became convinced that it is simply that almost no one knows anything about it because it is at the intersection of different disciplines. The separation of sciences is a very big problem and I'm not surprised NASA is raising this issue.

To substantiate the result obtained, I began to look for information about a similar principle, but I found that no one had done it yet, and in theory it is assumed that it should work backwards. There was no explanation for this principle in aerodynamics. Therefore, I had to come up with my own explanation of how it works and I began to study the fundamental sciences - nuclear physics and cosmology. I found an explanation through the aether theories. This is obvious if we consider astrophysics from the point of view of aerodynamics. Draw an analogy between the sinkhole and the spiral of the galaxy as scientists did when simulating gravitational waves from a black hole. When waves create strong stretching, a rupture occurs and the water swirls, and stars light up in the arms of galaxies. The collapse of the cavitation bubble is accompanied by the formation of a toroidal vortex, only in water it lasts for a fraction of a second, and in space for millions of years. You might think that this casts doubt on the continuity of space, but it simply implies its infinite divisibility and fractality. But the most important thing in all these theories is something that we can use and no matter what we call it. I even for fun sent it to the American Aircraft journal and they answered me quite seriously that it is interesting, but has a low level of submission. Anyway it inspired me. But be that as it may, it is still unclear whether it is worth doing this. I decided that since it is difficult to find out experimentally, then there must be a good theory that will prove everything mathematically. And I started to be interested in possible solutions, although mathematics was always difficult for me and I did not like it. But when this became a solution to the issue, my attitude changed and I could at least understand which equation should be applied. I concluded that it is necessary to find out what pressure arises under the flying saucer and for this it is necessary to use the Navier-Stokes equation. I began to study this and realized that this is suitable for laminar flows, but I am dealing with a vortex and the solution should be smooth. Looking at examples of solutions in the Cartesian coordinate system, I saw that it was similar to how I wanted to use this system for my explanation and it was no good.

Whereas in a triangular coordinate system, I logically obtained toroidal and hexagonal configurations like a vortex on Jupiter. I asked one theoretical physicist who disputed my idea if it was possible to solve the Navier-Stokes Equation in a triangular coordinate system and he said that it was possible due to some transformations, but even for him it was incredibly difficult. Another question that interested me was how to make a flying saucer develop thrust in space. I was gladdened by the news that physicists had successfully created a black hole and gravitational waves from it with the help of a water funnel. After all, I also had an analog water model. This is how I started with a crazy idea and now I have to be at the intersection of sciences to look for new explanations, although three years ago I could not imagine that this was possible for me. If I didn’t have a goal that interests me, I would not do this.

This also shows that research, conduct of which would seem to require complex scientific equipment, in fact can be carried out using the simplest available means if you use knowledge from different disciplines. The complexity of this approach lies in the fact that it is in the middle between official and pseudo science, therefore it finds a very weak response in both audiences, since they evaluate it based on their usual beliefs. The advantage of this approach is that it allows you to identify people who are able to absorb a wide variety of knowledge and think outside the box. The goal of the project is not only to attract those who are interested in pseudoscience to scientific knowledge, but also to draw the attention of the scientific community to those issues that slip out of sight of its attention. This is important, since the practice of scientific research throughout the history of mankind has shown that incredible ideas that go beyond the generally accepted beliefs sooner or later become knowledge of the future. This is a multiplicity of worlds, a heliocentric solar system, vehicles heavier than air, transmutation of chemical elements.

Hackathon Journey

I had heard about the hackathon before but was not interested in it. A week before the hackathon, I found it on social networks and decided to take a look. At first it seemed to me that it did there is no point in participating in this hackathon because I didn't find any the challenge that interested me. But the thought did not leave me that I can it's so easy to participate and be in contact NASA and others participants. So I learned everything problems in more detail and suddenly discovered that it was a particular problem poses the concept of what I dedicate much of my time. I know that the idea of a hackathon is not to give a ready-made solution for a long time, but I wanted to share my vision because this problem is relevant to me. All the original content that is used in the project is the result of several years of work and therefore I do not claim to win. But the judges can rightfully appreciate how I made the site page by removing unnecessary code and twisting the idea of a flying saucer to fit NASA's challenge.
