High-Level Project Summary
Summary of our project is to sense the cause of the traffic in both plain and mountain terrains and then pass the information to the urban and local authorities immediately if there is a major accident, with the help of drones within the golden hour which includes the time taken for call-out travel to the incident site, extrication and transport of the patient to the hospital.

Detailed Project Description
HOW DOES IT WORK:
- The satellite consist of an in car system that read the vehicle position every second using the Global Positioning System . Any traffic congestion is automatically detected for each road segments based on the prior knowledge of that road, such as the expected speed of the traffic under non-congested condition . If traffic congestion is detected the in-car system sends a message to the central server.
- The central server will notify the messages to the drone (Phantom-4) which consist of an in-built camera. The drone which is in the nearby area will get to the spot immediately and captures the images which will be sent to the local communities and government authorities within the radius of 1Km and the necessary actions could be taken immediately.
- If there is no accident at the spot then the police or traffic police will be informed to get to the place immediately to clear the road, especially in the mountain terrains which is risky.
WHY THIS IDEA:
- Road safety is shared responsibility of the government and a range of civil society stakeholders. The success of the road safety strategies in all countries depend upon a broad base of support and common action from stakeholders. The most common affect population in road traffic accident are pedestrian, cyclists, motorcyclists and user of public transport.
- So, in order to reduce the risk of the death caused by accidents the drones will be sent to the spot and captures photos of the scene which will then be sent to the server. If the traffic is caused by an accident then the information will be immediately sent to the local and government authorities.
FUTURE ENHANCEMENTS :
The satellite predicts the traffics on the road, after which the drones will be sent to the spot beforehand which makes it easier to prevent any dangerous accidents to occurs and also to clear the traffic.

Hackathon Journey
On the first day we were really eager to join the hackathon, since we were pretty new to it.
Then as per majority of our team member's interest we chose the topic "DRONES AND SATELLITES FOR URBAN DEVELOPMENT".
At the first, our team was fully out of idea but by next few hours we just got our thoughts and started researching about the drones and the satellites. Since hilly regions are more prone to accidents, we thought drones would help the local communities over there .
As we started searching for the resources we as a team gained a lot of knowledge about the technology and information related to drones and satellites. That learning process helped us a lot for our future. We as the team members of HYPERTEXT ASSASSINS , looking forward to see many of these challenges ahead. So that we can learn more stuff as we did this year. We are overwhelmed to be a part of this hackathon and a big thanks to our team , mentors and NASA to provide this awesome platform.
