High-Level Project Summary
Geographic Information Webapp that allows to detect more profitable zones to develop for renewable energy systems based on the natural resources. Detects the natural parameters in an area and determines the best renewable energy methods, helping the stakeholders to make decisions in order to develop urban cities based on smart grid. Using data analysis tools from Python to image processing and data from NASA’ satelliteThe step from classical to renewable energetic sources is unstoppable as a result of the increase of energetic demand across the world in order to satisfy the needs of the future smart cities.

Detailed Project Description
For the map creation we use an open source tool named QGIS that helps create, analyze and deploy web geographic information systems using Python. We use algorithms specialized to process geographic systems while working with points, polygons and lines also using specialized data from energy systems..
For the web page we used technologies such as Html, Js and css. We also used the Bootstrap 5 framework. We designed as the main goal a landing page where different maps of the region of Puebla are shown denoting the areas where it is more viable to have solar panels or wind generators. We also placed information about the challenge, team information and our objective
Even if the project is actually using static maps, the objective is to open this analysis to all the world, in order to discover and open this analysis to all kinds of data related to renewable energy (water corps, etc). But the objective is to develop a web app able to take real time data and process it in order to get the most optimized system.
Space Agency Data
We use the following datasets
POWER | Data Access Viewer (nasa.gov) to obtain the dataset related to the parameters of the Renewable energys
Global Wind Atlas to get dataset related to the wind speed and state around the world
EOSDIS Worldview (nasa.gov) to get datasets related to the world distribution and activities
New Night Lights Maps Open Up Possible Real-Time Applications | NASA to get the light map
We can get also the following maps from the open data related to the Goverment Data
Secretaría de Energía | Gobierno | gob.mx (energia.gob.mx) to get the data related to the energy comsumption in Mexico
