A 5G network can increase the usefulness of drones in a number of ways. With this pilot it will be verified how these communications are equally useful in the use of drones. To fly in urban environments it is essential to have a very precise positioning. Alternative positioning can be provided from the mobile network to improve security and even improve GPS accuracy.To achieve this, and that they can perform urban flights, it is key to provide drones with precise positioning. Therefore, with the 5G mobile network this is solved, since it provides an alternative positioning to improve the accuracy of the GPS.

Detailed Project Description
We consider it important since the integration of UAVs (drones) in the 5G communication standard will bring great advances for these devices. In the first place, the use of 5G networks to operate (command and control) these unmanned spacecraft will allow flights beyond the line of sight between the aircraft and its controller, even incorporating some autonomous flight capabilities.
In a second instance, the standardization of UAV communications in 5G could lay the foundations for the development of a centralized traffic management system or UTM (Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management).
This system will be vital to allow multiple drone operations to coexist at low altitudes in the airspace, maintaining safety conditions and verifying compliance with applicable regulations.

Hackathon Journey
We have learned by doing this project about drones and their adaptation of 5G; The use of drones has proliferated significantly in its different applications, today they can be useful to review power lines, for scientific monitoring of plantations, for environmental and climatic studies, for archaeological studies, for scientific studies of fish, dolphins or whales, for build bridges or restore buildings, to deliver mail or even for future medical care. The truth is that there is a wide range of uses and applications of these devices that have undoubtedly been changing our way of seeing the world.
