Agriculture on Mars: Experiments and Solutions

High-Level Project Summary

About our development: We used bombs with a thermal effect, then We laid organized lines of magnetic water treatment pipes, we connected the magnetic purification, we built greenhouses connected to rooms designed with pressure and heat, We used oxidation and reduction to make the soil non-toxic, We used acidic fertilizers, Or a solution of ammonium nitrate, ammonium sulfate or sulfur coated with urea. Both ammonium sulfate and sulfur-coated urea are good options for making acidic soils. It solves the challenge Because it solves the problems of the availability of the basic factors on which agriculture will depend on Mars. It is important because it provides the perfect solutions.

Detailed Project Description

what we do:

water treatment system:

We went to a place with barren soil and tried magnetic delta systems to get rid of the problem of water contamination and mixing with salts and minerals, and they showed good success

Building rooms with a modified climate system:

We were able to simulate closed rooms and adjust the pressure and temperature inside them in such a way that the water is in its liquid state inside.

 Building greenhouses:

We were able to make small greenhouses connected to rooms designed with a certain pressure and temperature, and we were able to grow plants inside them.

 Agricultural drainage:

-We went to a place with barren soil and tested our agricultural drainage system, an agricultural company cooperated with us and the results were acceptable.

 Soil with little acidity:

-We brought a part of barren soil, with a high PH, and added to it an amount of ammonium nitrate solutions according to the amount of soil we had, and the result was very good.

Toxic soil:

-We went to the laboratory of Cairo University to verify the experiment by bringing a part of a barren soil with a high percentage of perchlorate and we added the appropriate amounts of Na, Co and the result was arable soil.

our hope:

We hope to develop our solution more and more so that it can be applied on the ground on Mars.

We hope to visit NASA.

Space Agency Data

We used the data provided by NASA and its subsidiaries, NASA in Arabic and Science Alert, and benefited from it to obtain a lot of information regarding the climate, atmosphere and environmental conditions of Mars, which inspired us to make comparisons and find solutions.

Hackathon Journey

It was an interesting experience and we learned a lot from it and we learned a lot of information about the various disciplines that we used in the scientific research, we used many platforms to search for the information we eventually came up with, and this increased us with a lot of information, on the other hand, we loved working together on a project and we found That we have many common interests..

We were inspired to choose this challenge by discovering that we have common interests and finding those interests present in this challenge..

We overcame setbacks by encouraging each other, and when we had difficulty with one thing, we encouraged the other

and we all deserve thanks because we did our best to provide it to you in the best possible way and great solutions.
