Water Gamers 2

High-Level Project Summary

We developed a foldable shelving system to accompany an aeroponic growing environment. It uses a honeycomb-like structure to reduce the amount of material used in its construction while maximizing the growing space for plants, and is intended to stay supported by taut cords while in use, flattening into an easily stowable piece during transit.

Detailed Project Description

Most of the ideas were outlined in the above description.

The concept sketches were made using Autodesk Sketchbook.

Space Agency Data

Research was almost completely done on the NASA and CSA websites.

Hackathon Journey

Neither of us had any experience with hackathons, and very little experience coding. We chose this challenge mainly because it was more focused on innovative design than code, and one member had spent several years in FIRST Lego League developing such projects.

Thanks to my brother and parents, who provided some insights on how to approach a hackathon problem, as well as to the SIE Sound Team and Christopher Larkin for composing some excellent music to get me in the spirit.
