T ocean generator

High-Level Project Summary

We develop an economical clean energy project to generate electricity from the movement of the water stream. The project is called “T ocean generator” and it is about a hollow plastic tube connects with a specific design of a propeller that rotates by a water movement activates a pulley system which turns a hydroelectric generator. The “T ocean generator” generates enough energy to charge four car 4 batteries within an hour that can be used in the operation of water purification techniques, and devices in hospitals in developing countries. So our solution can solve the challenge because it provided an infinite quantity of energy by using ocean waves to generate energy.

Detailed Project Description

·       After a lot of searching at the problems face the world and affected people life and how we can save live by solving some of these problems. Getting energy without pollute the earth is a very important and difficult thing. Many people are exposed to diseases from pollution from getting nonrenewable energy and many regions don’t have access to any electricity in houses and hospitals. After seeing all these things. We try to help these people in an easy way and not harmful to the environment by obtaining ocean Current energy all with simple and cheap tools and provide to them amount of electricity they need.

·       So, we reach to (T ocean tube) is a device that converts ocean energy (water current) into electricity, this device will provide sufficient electricity for our needs and the needs of developing countries whose people live on the ocean coasts and near to any water current. The idea of ​​the device lies in specific design for the water propeller the movement of the water stream rotate it and it connected with a pulley system that turns a hydroelectric generator, so this movement of the propeller change from kinetic energy into electricity.

·       Making it wasn’t difficult and the materials are so cheap and not much. We brought a plastic tube 1 meter and cut it into part one 25cm and the second 75cm and water propeller with an iron handle that connected it to the larger pulley that rotates and by using string make the upper smaller pulley furl that connected to the hydroelectric generator and make it turn on .then we put them in the plastic tube the generator and the smaller pulley on the top and the second pulley in the bottom and one of the T sides we put the propeller and cover on the two sides to prevent water from entering to the inside tube system.

 

·        before making the main project, we made a small model even testing it, then we started. At the first test, we found the total milliwatts per trail by multiplying the average mill volt times the average milliampere VA=W.

     we made 9 trials and the results were:

 And in the second step, we multiplied the watt values from each trial by six because there are 60 minutes in one hour, and by performing that multiplication

in 2015, about 1.3 million live in this world without electricity, many of populations are concentrated around the coastal areas, as about 40% of the world population live on a distance of 100 KM (62 miles) beside the sea and ocean coast and only 10% live on distance 10KM (6,2 miles) on the Nile or river water source.

The proposed innovation is a power conversion technology that will help achieve NASA's Fundamental Aeronautics Program (FAP) goals of reducing emissions and increasing fuel efficiency for high speed flight. NASA's objective to increase the specific power of high efficiency electric components in order to make a 10 mega-watt onboard power generation and/or utilization feasible for propulsion requires the development of sub-scale technologies to support the development and validation of newer turbo-electric aircraft and embedded boundary layer electric propulsion systems. Compact and lightweight turbine generators scaling from the kW to MW class are needed to transition high speed aircraft to hybrid electric propulsion systems. Metis Design Corp is developing a lightweight, compact, gas turbine generator that draws on recent innovations in the fields of permanent magnet generators and turbomachinery, to achieve a target power density of over twice the state-of-the-art and the potential to scale to 100's of kW. The proposed turbine engine uses a lightweight, two-spool configuration that eliminates the need for the heavy reduction gearbox required by state-of-the-art systems. Phase II of this SBIR effort will develop a detailed design, then fabricate and test the complete turbine generator sub-system in a laboratory environment.

Hackathon Journey

It is an interesting experience. We have developed the method of scientific research and how to search for the problem, develop previous solutions we know a lot of information that we did not know before like air pressure, water pressure, the power of water stream, electricity generation and how to get information from Nasa database. We learned to work as one hand and how this would help us and save time when we divided the tasks that we would do, how to use the hydroelectric generator, about electric current. This idea came to us when we found several countries that do not have access to electricity to light homes, hospitals, and so on, so we thought at the time of using the water stream to generate electricity because the water is available in several places where it occupies 71% of the earth's surface. Our approach in developing depends on information from the Nasa database and the output of energy is large and uses environmentally friendly materials and with low cost. At the first, the number of furling of the propeller is the same number of furling of the generator and the output of electricity is bad. so, we search more and found that if we made the pulley that connects with the propeller larger than the one connected with the generator the number of furling of the generator will be greater than the number of propeller We thank the Suez Canal Authority that gave to us the permission to test our prototype.
