High-Level Project Summary
Have you ever dreamed of understanding things in 3 D which is very interactive and extraordinary in classroom? What if solar systems can be visually displayed in 3D with animations? Ye! It is now possible with “AR GALACTICS” where we can observe 3D animated view simply by scanning through the flash card. With this, students can see the activities of different planets and a solar system as a whole. The education system in today’s scenario is such that though we are getting degree certificate we lack the knowledge of actual things. Everyday we read many books but we are unable to visualize and get to know how the things actually happens. This is where AR galactics comes in !!

Detailed Project Description
The brain has a profound attachment to visual information, and we being the creator should make the most of this fact. So “AR GALACTICS” provides active learning by projecting a 3D model on the top of 2D flash cards. It plays 3D animation of the activities of the particular thing as for now different planets, sun ,moon, solar system, etc.
With the embedded Augmented reality technology, it is possible to see the real 3D model of different objects in the virtual space and undoubtedly get the most out of what is being taught.
Children and school students from all over the world are mainly aimed for this project. Many students consider science as the toughest subject and astronomy as the boring part. So if it goes along by interactive animations, it can be taught well with less effort in an efficient way. A good education is an effective tool for the success and prosperity of the nation. So, from a very young age, children can have interest in science and astronomy with the use of AR GALACTICS.
Space Agency Data
We used the information regarding solar system from the NASA.
As this our first version we will iterate our project slowly.
Hackathon Journey
We were very fascinated by AR technology few weeks ago. With lots of discussions and exchange of different ideas we finally reached a feasible project that we hope could have a significant impact on education at the global level. We used Adobe illustrator to illustrate the objects in a flash card, Blender to make its 3D model, Unity and Vuforia to recognize images and objects, and interact with spaces in the real world through a mobile app.
This hackathon has increased our experience .
THANK YOU NASA SPACE APP CHALLENGE !!!!
References
We have used unity 3d and vuforia engine to develop the project.
