High-Level Project Summary
For this project, we decided to invent our own challenge: Improve Upon on the Perseverance Rover and Its Suspension System. The Perseverance rover is ground-breaking technology that will immensely further our understanding and study of Mars. We've come a long way from landers and are now mobile on extraterrestrial bodies. The Perseverance Rover is currently the most advanced, yet there's always room for improvement. That's where the Fortitude Rover comes in. It's an immense upgrade on the off-roading capabilities of Perseverance. By improving the mobility of that Mars rover, we will be able to collect more information on Mars.

Detailed Project Description
Our project is an improvement upon the Perseverance rover. Specifically, the mobility aspect. We wanted to improve the rover's off-roading capabilities and make it much more efficient. Our belief is that by improving the rover's mobility, we can explore much more of Mars's surface and gather more information. We believe that this upgrade will lead to unprecedented discoveries that will further our knowledge and understanding of Mars. We hope to achieve the most efficient rover for Mars exploration. In order to do that, we designed and 3D modeled the parts we need. We used Fusion360 to model our ideas and collaborate. Much of our design process was done by hand and later transferred over to Fusion360.
Space Agency Data
We were inspired by the Perseverance Rover, which is developed by NASA. All the information we have on the rover is from NASA. We gathered information on the Perseverance Rover and how it operates in order to improve upon the design.
Hackathon Journey
We would describe our Space App experience as innovative. It required our team to be creative without designs in order to create an improvement on the Perseverance rover. It also helped us gain an appreciation for all the design and insane engineering that goes into building a rover. It was an eye-opening experience for all of us and helped us improve our 3D modeling skills. Our biggest challenge was time. We had to design and model all in the same day, so there was a lot of trial and error. We knew this would be a problem, so we decided to make a flexible design process. We'd like to thank the amazing team at NASA that designed the Perseverance rover for innovating an insane rover. They are truly inspirational.
