High-Level Project Summary
With the start of space travelling now civic groups can go to space too.The importance of functional devices have increased because the civic groups who dont go to space with experienced astronauts needs to stay in space for at least one day and those devices can help civillians in urgent matters. The Project we worked on with our team, can solve the urgent problems that can happen in some spacecrafts.Simply;with the knife we developed that works with air pressure can cut, split in half and snatch wood, metal, rope easily.Specially it will affect the vital importance problems solution because it can snatch stuck pieces in capsule and parachutes that do not open as a result of glitch.

Detailed Project Description
Simply the device we qualify as a pressure blade thanks to air pressure it can tear materials that is impossible to tear with hands. We created a design that profit by a piston that Works with air pressure, polyurethane hoses that can resist to pressure,a sharp knife to be mounted on the end of the piston and sigma profile that we use for keeping the setup steady. The design can be used easily in any spacecraft because the size of our machine can change. The power of the piston will change according to resistance of the piston to which we direct the air pressure. In the setup we prepared as a prototype we gave 6 bars of pressure to a piston that have resistance up to 15 bars and we saw that our machine can split a rope that has lifting force of 700kilograms.Thanks to the large size pistons that can use in higher pressure our machine can cut aliminuim easily.
For running the setup and to bring the setup half autonomous we get help by arduino developing cart.We prefered C++ software language because it is easy and short.
We hope that our project is a functional device that can be easily used in case of emergencies in space.
Space Agency Data
From the diverse and useful data density provided by NASA we have created an effective knowledge base for each stage of our project, especially its design. We have confirmed the knowledge that the main part intended for launch is the top of the rocket, and that most of the rocket is positioned for the power to launch the rocket into space.
However we have learned that these parts are strongly interlocked to move in a flat trajectory during rocket launch, and that the mechanism that allows them to separate when they need to be separated in space needs a design so that the mechanism does not create great power, space and weight. We have provided the information that this need arises most in small rockets, as they have experienced with the IBEX rocket. The mechanism designed for IBEX inspired us in our project, especially with its blade and piston system. In addition, the systems that astronauts used for parachutes during their descent to planetary surfaces which they tried and failed gave us very valuable data about what we should and shouldn’t to do
Hackathon Journey
Space Apps because of Covid-19 made something different from past years and were made online this year. But it doesn’t mean that we didn’t have fun at this Hackathon. Space Apps increased our space interest. As a team, we have gained a lot of experience and knowledge in this project, as in many projects we have done in the past . We have discussed this category amongst ourselves before, and for this reason it become more interesting to us. We overcome setbacks and difficulties with confidence and remembering our experiences. We would like to thank everyone who helped us with this project.
