High-Level Project Summary
I have developed a mechanical device that can hold and let things go in space very efficiently using a set of pins and beams. When a beam is pulled, it pulls the beam with it, unlocking a hook that let things go. The device can be reset and used again. It solves this challenge by being very simple and lightweight, also very easy to produce and repair. Can be activated without use of electric motors or electronics. In the future, when space travel becomes frequent, we will move more objects in space. The objects need to be secured so they don`t get damaged or damage other devices around. Space damages may cause lot of money loss, as well as space debris which is worse than money loss.

Space Agency Data
I have used the documents attached in the "resources" section.
I came to know that NASA is using pyrotechnics and that scientist are trying to avoid pyrotechnics due to creation of high shock event. The spacecraft or critical equipment might be damaged during the event. It might also not always work.
This information inspired me to elaborate an idea that could potentially always work.
Hackathon Journey
Mechanics is a field that always inspires me; this challenge suited the way I imagine things. While developing the project I made a lot of sketches and tests until I designed what I find as suitable solution.
