Hackathon trip
The team name is Space Team Electronics Mexico Technology (STEMT)
The members that make up the team are Ashley Daniela Rivera Aguilar, Saúl Hernández Nuñez, Oscar Nao Díaz Nava, Alexis Sebastián Hernández Castillo.
The challenge we chose is Let it go (without a bang!). We were inspired to choose this challenge due to the urgency to innovate a system that in our opinion is obsolete, in no process outside of takeoff there are explosions, we decided to apply our mechatronic engineering knowledge in the innovation of the component that separates the load from the parachute, creating a system that is innovative, simple and elegant, just like NASA.
The name we gave to the project is "grip by holding", the operation consists of replacing the cuts and explosions with a grip for holding or connection, to achieve an optimal reduction of physical stress, impact loads, pyrotechnics in this type of device regular, frequent replacement of parts after their performance and the cost of the same, as well as, a positive impact in the increase of the security of the package during the landing.
Our experience was very good, great, with a lot of learning and work. The importance of just thinking that we had in mind years ago compared to today is very relevant, the importance of materials, the careers of others, tools, time organization, the subject of aircraft, materials, the calculations, the systems, the components, the teamwork, the knowledge reinforcements, the fact that anyone can help you and have a better focus than you.
Some of the most challenging situations of these 48 hours of work were the organization between the team members, the commitment, the questions and doubts that arose during the development of the project (especially the design, the calculations and the thinking outside the box) , obtaining reliable information to build it. We solved them by better coordinating and organizing our time, relying on hackathon resources like articles, tools, and tutoring.
We want to thank the organizers of the GDL hackathon for the excellent direction and coordination of the project, as well as for all the useful tools that helped us to better structure our final delivery. We also thank NASA for empowering the challenges of this drive that strengthens the skills of participants through innovation and encourages us to be creative.

Space Agency Data

We leverage a lot of spatial data during project planning, development and exposure. Since, these served as a guide to better understand the problem we were trying to solve, know the existing solutions and analyze how we could select the best of these, while paying special attention to their weaknesses in order to creatively invent an alternative with spatial data. that to date had not been applied in a similar device, always with the knowledge of the team members.
Spatial data inspires our project from start to finish, keeping in mind that team members made the challenge a form of contribution to technology due to our passion for space issues, even more than a competition.
