Refit Trash or ReTrash

High-Level Project Summary

Trash refit is an application for trading in waste use, such as plastics, metals and other materials that can be reused, or processed into raw material for products.The app uses machine learning for geolocation and diagnosis of better options for selling this material, locating cooperatives, factories and processing industries close to the user.The goal of the app is to convert these wastes into a sustainable source of income, transforming the garbage that would pollute the oceans and the environment into a product that can normally be marketed.

Detailed Project Description

With recycled waste through the use of the App whose information gives us inserted in its media, therefore AI with geolocation, and also with the use of ML that helps with greater ease in information,​ this App not only helps you how to properly collect your trash but also helps you by showing you​ how this garbage can be reused and also giving us benefits by being collected in a good and proper way,​ your function gives us a way to reuse this garbage with your coherent information, by informing you it will indicate you a specific location of where this material can be collected and reused, ​using your mapping it will guide you in good and pleasant route where you can direct this collected material,  because in these posts it will be transformed into renewable materials, with new forms of reuse and use.​ by the way, we live in a world constantly in globalization, in which the consumerism industry is gaining more and more strength,​ so to stabilize this problem worldwide we should innovate in a market in which garbage is marketed innovatively and effectively.​ The goal of the app is to convert these wastes into a sustainable source of income, ​transforming the waste that would pollute the oceans and the environment into a product in order to strengthen family income and environmental preservation.​

The app uses machine learning for geolocation and diagnosis of better options for selling this material, locating cooperatives, factories and processing industries close to the user, through the information entered as probabilities the app is able to find the location of specific waste and specific recycling stations that best fit the material in which you want to sell, best route and most accessible possible to get to these posts.


Without a doubt, the search process is more optimized and practical with geolocation.

That works like this: an electronic device sends data using a "Macintosh Operating System" (MAC) address, radio frequency identification (RFID), wi-fi connection or "Global Positioning System" (GPS) coordinates, since it allows the user to "walk" through several residences and their surroundings through the inserias information as:

Reverse geocoding, which requires the conversion of latitude and longitude coordinates to identify a specific region, city, street, address, and zip code for each location;


determining the time zone and converting coordinated universal time (UTC) to local time;


the correction of GPS positions to align with a city or neighborhood location;


without having to work hard, this facility can attract and delight people who are able to do this good for the world.

Hackathon Journey

Our experiences in the space application was very good and important, we had the pleasure of learning new things and developing with new challenges in which we made ourselves have new experiences.We learn many things from this project in only knowing how important it is to be able to participate in challenges that leads us to learn matters of utmost importance not only for our lives but also for the world, Moreover, what inspires us in this challenge in which we chose was a way of how we can see things differently and renewingly, addressing a theme that today is very important not only for people but for the whole world.

It was very challenging how to approach a new and different project using our knowledge of how to develop something to have a solution for our days, and use today's knowledge to develop this project that was very innovative.

 And the setbacks we had in how to solve these challenges was very difficult but in the end everything worked out each using their methods and knowledge to address solving solution was quite impressive, and also leaving our thanks to the staff themselves and the support for the commitment and effort in the work we had together,  so that today and at that moment we together managed to develop this project.
