An AI bot that can eat marine plastics!

High-Level Project Summary

AquaBot is an AI based marine debris collecting boat which can collect only unbiodegradable materials like plastics, aluminum can by using it's advanced Ai and IoT based mechanism. Our target is to collect marine debris optimistically by detecting the harmful debris which are not easily biodegradable.

Detailed Project Description

Using the power of Artificial Intelligence we team AquaBot have trained our ML model which can detect and collect marine plastics and aluminum optimistically.


AquaBot is fully IoT based boat built to collect marine plastics. We trained AquaBot, with 1900 training images, 637 test images, 637 validation images. We applied enhanced Object Detection for detecting Plastic. When AquaBot will detect the plastic, there would be mechanism which will open the mouth or the shutter of the boat. So that the plastic could go through and can be stored inside the boats storage centre.

Hackathon Journey

It was a great experience to participate this 2 days long Space Apps Hackathon. We learned a lot of new things while working on this project.
