High-Level Project Summary
In our Project we will try to create a simulator and find a way to detect the garbage or waste found in the oceans, rivers, etc. Through this simulator, after detecting the garbage, it seeks to classify by object and quantity of each one in order to facilitate its collection and recycling.

Detailed Project Description
¿What exactly does it do?
Our project performs the recognition of different waste (garbage) that we can find either plastic or other materials, after being able to register the images of the waste makes a count to know how much there is of each waste.
¿How Does It Work?
The first thing it does is recognize the directory where the folders of the images are, then it identifies the subdirectories and the images within each one and then make a count of each folder and after recognizing each image it makes another count to know the number of images of each waste. Then it goes through a training set where the model is trained so that it can perform the classification of the different types of garbage.
¿What benefits does it have?
To be able to make a classification of each waste in order to make recycling easier and to know the amount of garbage that reaches the sea or which waste is the most thrown and thus be able to raise awareness about this problem.
¿What do you hope to achieve?
We hope to have a simulator that through drones with cameras manages to detect through sensors the different waste that is in the sea to later be quantified and classified according to its type of garbage to later be quantified once again according to its type and thus have knowledge of the waste that most reaches the sea.
¿What tools, coding languages, hardware, or software did you use to develop your project?
- Python
- Google Colab
- Ubuntu 18
