App MoonForAll

High-Level Project Summary

MoonForAll is an interactive App that can be accessed for the assigned users, who can save their input entries and have the possibility to attach files of different formats; i.e., images, audio, and videos. Once saved, the log entry cannot be modified. The App has a collaborative environment, where the users can access the logs from all the collaborators and can see the console of other members in real-time. Allowing a more dynamic interaction during the mission. Finally, the app could be an excellent tool for other worldwide collaborations. Members can store their ideas and material to solve the specific questions of their projects.

Detailed Project Description

This project is call: MoonForAll. It contains the flowchart design of an application and a short Jupyter notebook of the code. This application wants to archive that several people (like technicians, scientists and astronauts) document and review information, for example during Extravehicular Activities or spacewalks, in real time.

The flowchart design starts with an restricted access, then the user console but also the consoles of the other user, in this way all users are able to see in real time the inputs of the others. It also shows real time video of the mission and the location (sits) of the users. All data are collected and storage in a database from where the users are also able to see past information.

The Jupyter notebook (also as python script) contains a short python code that display a demo console of one user but with the plan to be user for several users.

Space Agency Data

This project does not require actual mission data, however the Apolo 11 flight journey was taken as an example for the entries for this application.

Hackathon Journey

This was an incredible experience, it was in fact a challenge, we had never worked on something that we do not know but instead we have a lot of interest and motivation. We learned that the ideas and ability are in our brains and that we just have to challenge our minds to discover how cool we are! Thank you NASA and the local organizers for your time and effort to always inspire us.
