Mexican H.A.B (HIGH-ALTITUDE BALLOON)

MEXICAN H.A.B

High-Level Project Summary

A website that illustrates in a simple way the process of making, launching and tracking High Altitude Balloon (HAB). It has information on safety and regulations; in addition, a chatbot capable of answering the most frequently asked questions on the subject. How?Publishing easy-to-read material on the web, in addition, proposing a way to create our own HAB. Including HAB preparation, launch, trace, and recovery. Because it is important?HABs are means that allow us to know more about our atmosphere, mainly in higher layers, such as the stratosphere, mesosphere and even the thermosphere. All these influence the climatic conditions of our environment.

Detailed Project Description

What exactly does it do?

This project is about the preparation, launching, tracking and recovery of the HAB itself It provides us with a wealth of information about the HABs, from their operation, to the costs of the materials and all the data they require to develop yours clearly with their due permissions.

How does it work?

It is a web page, you can enter from any browser and navigate through its sections. As well as we have a question and answer section where our intelligent BOT can help answer them.

Which has benefits?

The web shows summary and easy to understand information, compiled from different sources.

What do you hope to achieve?

Show the importance of HABs, how they work, and the process from preparation to recovery. Likewise, it is that everyone, no matter where they are, does not miss out on this simple tool at their fingertips with the necessary information so that if one day you wish to create your own HAB yourself.

What tools, coding languages, hardware or software used to develop your project?

Thorough research in scientific articles and web pages with the services that azure offers us such as the use of an app service for the implementation of the content management system (CMS) word press, qnamaker and bot services, scientific articles on the web, university books, Official page of NASA and Blogs.

Space Agency Data

To carry out this project, we were provided with valuable information from NASA, which is the document "NASA creates technologies to collect science from the globe observatory" This document is very interesting, it tells us how they had to store their telescopes in dewar containers, to eliminate emissions and increase the sensitivity of the telescope, the process they carried out is very interesting, as well as the article "the HASP mission will fly 11 useful loads to students ", which motivated us even more to strive in this, since we want to be the next students to participate in something like that. We also used NASA's library of images of scientific balloons as inspiration, in the same way some images of the library file were added to the project we carried out, this with the purpose of inspiring more people and better illustrating how the launch of a BR. And finally, the official NASA website was consulted about the types of scientific balloons used in said agency and that information was included in the resource what we do.

Hackathon Journey

It was a very interesting and fun experience, we liked the event they organized this year, very varied, recent and great themes and challenges. In this hackathon we learned many things, living with people from different places and different careers gives you an experience that we had not thought to obtain, the coexistence and the atmosphere were very pleasant. Our approach is to try to fill the general public with vast knowledge that is not normally at hand, even we as students had no idea about the whole process that it takes to build a HAB. We resolved the setbacks by having good communication and organization, since every good team must have it. We were able to form a multidisciplinary team that allowed us to better solve the challenge proposed by Space Apps Challenge We learned what a HAB is, how it works and how I can make my own HAB myself, of course with its proper permissions; In addition, we learned to work as a team, communicate using digital media, the implementation of various Azure tools and skills to solve problems.
We were inspired by the lack of data about HABs in our country and their importance in bringing people closer to astronomy and science.
A collaborative and multidisciplinary approach was used to solve the challenge
To my teammates for giving me such a wonderful experience and to the Space Apps Challenge mentors for inspiring me to enter this Hackathon
