With the ongoing climate change and deforestation, Our Shores aims to encourage the community in planting more mangroves with just a few taps on their smartphones. The said app utilizes different data sets from Geo Portal, which helps the application in detecting which site or area is appropriate in planting Mangrove, and motivates the users by informing them of the benefits of planting Mangroves. Furthermore, the said app can potentially generate more income for the fishermen due to the increased number of fish species from the impacts made from planting mangrove.
Using this dataset, a feature within the app will be to provide analytics for users to show their contribution in terms of the density of trees within the area of the plantation of mangrove forests
This will show analytics for users on the contribution of their virtual trees in terms of air quality they help improve.
This data enables a feature in the app that will show the influence of the user's contribution to forests in terms of ecological impact
This feature is built on the collective data on vegetation, the presence of species, and tidal elevations. This Feature will be guided by a handbook from the Philippine Tropical Forest Conservation Foundation Inc. titled, Community-based Mangrove Rehabilitation Training Manual[1]. The guide provides the necessary information to know what the optimal forest is.

With multiple resources to choose from, experience in Space Apps has been overwhelming for the team. Choosing a challenge was not easy and it is especially difficult to find the appropriate data set for the problem we tried to solve.
We eventually settled with planting Mangrove trees to house more species, such as fishes, which also means more income for our fellow fishermen, and to absorb the Carbon Dioxide as our country emit tons of it.
There were plenty of setbacks and challenges in developing this idea, especially economic issues, but as long as we kept listening to mentors and experts, we eventually reached to a potential solution to the problem (without falling in love with it).

This project has been submitted for consideration during the Judging process.
Marginalized communities are often disproportionately impacted by environmental hazards. Your challenge is to use NASA's Earth observation data to: 1) identify regions where such environmental injustice occurs, and 2) design implementable solutions that enable equitable outcomes.
