RAİN WATER BANK

High-Level Project Summary

What is a Rainwater Bank ?The water bank project ensures that rainwater drops are stored underground and reused in agricultural lands during the drought period. How does a Rainwater Bank work? After more water droplets are directed to the rainwater pools with which the Rainwater Bank is connected on the ground, with the rain propellers around it, it is filled into the underground rainwater tank through water pipes for use in dry conditions in agricultural lands and then used. Why is the Rainwater Bank project necessary? After the rainwater is filled into the rainwater pool with the help of wind fans,it is conveyed to the underground tank by pipes and used in arid agricultural lands.

Detailed Project Description

Rainwater Bank Project Operation

The working principle of this mechanism, which enables us to use rainwater in the most efficient way in agricultural lands, is as follows:

We can easily store the energy of the Industrial fan, which will only work when it rains, from solar energy. Thanks to the air circulation created by the industrial fan, we ensure that more rainwater falls into our water pools, which are used to fill our tanks. Then, thanks to the grid at the bottom of our pool, we purify the dirt that will go to the tank and deliver our water to the water tank through the pipes and store the water in the water tank. When it does not rain for a long time, we irrigate the land by transmitting the water from the tank to the sprinklers by means of motors working with solar energy. For this purpose, we use rainwater instead of water from dams.

Model of the Rainwater Bank Project

The benefits of the Rainwater Bank Project

1-)Water is saved in arid climates by storing rainwater.

2-)The amount of water to be used for agricultural land from dams is reduced to a minimum.

3-)Increases the efficiency of the water to be used.

4-)The quality of the product to be grown is improved by efficient irrigation.

5-)Drought is prevented in the fields.

6-)By preventing the use of groundwater with the resulting water, the holes that will form are prevented.

7-)A certain amount of water needs of poor communities where water cannot be delivered are met.

This is what the Rainwater Bank Project aims at

The purpose of this project is to prevent soil loss due to drought on earth and to prove that rainwater is used more efficiently.Vehicles used in the Rainwater Bank project

We used climate assessment data from California sources,we used drought data available on NASA's site.

We used the Paint 3D program in modeling.

We used the website "LOOKA" in the logo design,we used the website "Preezi" when creating the templates.

Space Agency Data

  1. In our studies, we used the data of NASA by entering the global climate center website and learned what we should focus on in our project in global climate. We included NASA's climate charts on our website.
  2. We used the EPA institution's data on water resources in our project design.
  3. We used the drought statistics of the JAXA institution in the template articles we created.
  4. We used ESA's blog posts on water efficiency in agricultural lands as inspiration for our project.
  5. We analyzed the data of the last twenty years related to the temperature of the CSA institution around the world and added it to our project.
  6. We read the analyzes of the AEB institution on earth temperature and were inspired to create the project.

Hackathon Journey

For our entire team, the Nasaspaceapps competition was our first experience. This experience allowed my teammates to use new programs and tools. When choosing this challenge, our team was influenced by the drought problems that have been increasingly affecting our country in recent years and turned to looking for solutions. It was the evaluation of raindrops coming to our world from the atmosphere that inspired us in the project. When developing the project, our approach is to store as much raindrops as possible to the maximum extent possible. Our team has decoupled all the problems by dividing them up and thinking and communicating together in the face of setbacks and difficulties. The name we would like to thank is our "Selman Canli'' mentor,he answered all our questions during the process and showed us the necessary attention. We thank him very much as a team.
