New DETAILED PROJECT DESCRIPTION :
- It is a research project in which we review the environmental injustice that affects the marginalized areas of the world, and during our search for these areas, we chose the Makoko region, which is located within one of Africa's most populous cities, the city of Lagos in Nigeria.
Makoko is one of the largest aquatic colonies in the world, located on Lake Lagos. It is difficult to estimate the population of the area, but some studies indicate that it is close to 200 thousand people, according to some studies, but this number remains inaccurate.
- The city lacks the basics of life such as drinking water, electricity, health and educational services, in addition to the lack of roads that allow the transportation of basic commodities, because of their presence on the water, so the only means of transportation is small boats!
In addition to these various health, social and economic problems, the village faces the problem of overpopulation, which contributes to making things worse!
- During our study of the subject, we tried to suggest some solutions that contribute to improving the tragic situation in the village by highlighting the most important points and trying to find realistic and feasible solutions, including:
-Improve living conditions in the neighborhood through.
Improving the standard of living.
Building roads that allow access to facilities
and basic commodities.
Reconsidering the issue of potable water and
Sewage.
- There are many other suggestions and practical solutions that we will address during the research, through which we try to draw the attention of the government and the world to the need to solve these problems and to try to make the government abandon its obsession with the mass destruction of the neighborhood, especially since the residents of the neighborhood are committed to staying in it.
We believe that a decent life is the right of every human being
