High-Level Project Summary
Was designed a educational board game, simulating space travel through our Solar System, where each astronaut will have objectives to accomplish until reaching his final destination. They will have several challenges where will answer about curiosities and space events to advance in his journey.A dynamic and fun game for the family, encouraging knowledge of space data through QR codes provided in cards, leaving players to NASA websites.

Detailed Project Description
Benefits:
Social entertainment
Resource planning and administration
Space exploration
Scientific knowledge
Rise curiosity about the space, NASA and exploration.
What I hope to reach:
A space exploration game providing knowledge and entertainment for intire family
What is the game
Educational board game with possibilities to be developed in a 2D or 3D environment through a space race in our Solar System, astronauts need to reach several objectives to win this game.
Goals:
Search
Colonize
Mine resources
Age group
+14
Number of participants
3 to 6
Game Components
1 board map (65cmx44cm) - Cardboard

100 Problem or Advantage Cards (9cm x 6,5cm) – 250g recycled paper
Resource cards (fuel, mining robots, ores, ship maintenance parts) (9cm x 6,5cm) – 250g recycled paper
Costume cards (cold and heat) (9cm x 6,5cm) – 250g recycled paper
Game guide – (Open A4, final size A5) – Recycled paper
Goal cards
16 cards containing different objectives (colonization, mining, research) (9cm x 6,5cm) – 250g recycled paper
Beginning of the game
Astronauts choose their ships, the planet/moon destination to colonize, explore or mining.
3 resource cards will be distributed to each astronaut
Cards can contain: fuel tank, space suits for cold or heat planets, resources (planet rocks, water, mining).
The start of the game will be determined by the player with the highest score by rolling the movement dice.
Depending on the destination planet and the resources needed to complete his mission, the player will make his route and travel according with the roll dices.
Movement / Travel
For each planet reached the player will have to roll the fuel dice to fill his tank before going to the next planet or use a fuel resource card that is in his possession.
If you need to mine or research the planet, you must roll the mining dice next to the fuel dice, to refil your fuel tank and collect needed resources. You will only leave the planet after you manage to complete your research/mining and if your ship has enough fuel.
It is possible to use your resource cards (fuel / research / mining) and get off the planet without the need to roll fuel dice or resource mining.
Each round the player will receive a resource card, and cannot have more than 3 cards in their hands. The player can use cards for their benefit or choose one to discard.
The routes have constant dangers and if the player falls on a red square he will have to draw a problem or advantage card that will indicate if the player will be penalized or get any benefit in the round.
End of the game
The first to complete his final mission wins.
Space Agency Data
We use some research data provided by NASA, they are very helpful and instructive for the group.
On the link of basic notions of space flight we were able to get pertinent information about rocket launches, some previous trips, some concepts used by NASA in they trips, and more.
We also use information about some surface planets already mapped by NASA and a notion of others that have not had such success.

Hackathon Journey
The experience of the event was very satisfactory, marked by the union and sharing of ideas and knowledge that emerged along the event, which helped all members to evolve as people and citizens aware of the challenges that humanity will face in the future. The theme choice was complex, we analyzed several challenges from an exciting perspective as they were all very thought-provoking when we thought about how we could help. Space Quest: The Game turned out to be a similar point between our members because united all members affinity for sci-fi and games. We managed to have an easy and fun creative freedom. Inspired by a few traditional board games and adding personal details in the space theme with resources available for us, we were able to develop a unique and educational game, always striving for knowledge combined with entertainment. Each member added a personal touch of them own experiences, from childhood sci-fi movies or moments where everyone gathered to watch fantastic NASA rocket launches televised around the world. We always value creativity, fun and intelligent ideas, at many times we are in doubt which direction to follow in the approach and construction of the game, but we always had new ideas and paths to be followed until reaching a final choice pleased and delighted by everyone in the group. We are grateful to SENAC team, that provided a fantastic structure for production, to NASA, which provided information and resources that were fundamental to the construction of the entire project, and to all group members who worked together to finish our game in the best possible way.
