UA Team Quiz Game Web

High-Level Project Summary

We have created a web that provides basic knowledge about NASA and our solar system. It also has a quiz game that will determine your knowledge about the given information on the web.

Detailed Project Description

The website consists of six pages which are the home page, history page, planet page, about us, and the other two intended for the game we created. The first three pages enumerated above provide basic information about space and a little bit of trivia to make it more exciting. The about us page gives background of the mission and vision of the team. Lastly, a quiz which can be seen in the game pages in order to assess the knowledge of the user about the information that they have read over the website. This is an entertaining way of learning the history of NASA and our solar system. The languages used in the creation of the website are HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.  The website consists of six pages which are the home page, history page, planet page, about us, and the other two intended for the game we created. Hackathon Journey

The world we live in is full of mysteries that are waiting to be discovered by us humans. As we joined the NASA Space App Challenge, it was a bitter-sweet experience because we were clueless and doubtful hearing the name of the event itself. At first glance, we were stressed and under pressure because of the tasks needed to be accomplished in a short period of time. After some time, we were enjoying and in a good momentum as we were getting the job done piece by piece. Being able to compete and experience this event gave many takeaways such as learning new coding styles, the do’s and don’ts and how to easily adapt in a situation. We have learned so much but we do think the most important lesson for us is that we found happiness towards coding and saw the essence of it towards this project. We are all Information Technology students and so our coding skills were awoken from hibernation which we are truly grateful for.

We have chosen the Space Quest: The Game Challenge simply because we want to inform the youngsters today about how big earth is and what lies beyond our atmosphere. We do want them to be excited and to ignite their inner curiosity about space. In developing our project, we started by assessing each other's abilities and strategizing in an easy way in order to get the job done faster. We distributed the task to each member and we constantly communicated and collaborated online while making progress to the project. Although it seems we are doing pretty good, we did have some setbacks but we overcame them by being there for each other and showing optimism. The team was open for criticisms and we filled each other's weaknesses into strengths.

The event is about to end but we would like to thank and give our gratitude to our mentor, Dominic Ligot, as he has enlightened us about the importance of this competition and has 100 percent guided us to the right path in this journey. Of course, we want to express our gratitude as well to the organizers of NASA Space App Challenge and to our school for the opportunity they have given us to experience this kind of competition. We truly have been challenged yet we know we have come a long way towards this adventure.
