High-Level Project Summary
We developed a superpower for the Earth that we thought would benefit humanity.One of the Earth's most unique qualities is that it is able to host life, unlike every other planet that we have currently discovered. One of the things that endanger life on Earth is global warming and thus we chose for our superpower to be 'The Earth can regulate its temperature year-round.'This superpower is important to humanity since global warming could be disastrous to human life and the Earth itself. In fact, we might have to colonize a whole other planet because of global warming which isn't exactly easy and ideal to do as we haven't even found another planet suitable for life.

Detailed Project Description
Our superpower lets the Earth become hotter or colder based on its current climate temperature. If the Earth thinks it's too hot, it will cool down to a certain degree. If the Earth thinks it's too cold, it will warm up to a certain degree. For example, in the current world, the temperature of the Earth is climbing at an alarming rate and humans are being urged to be more green. If our superpower were to be true, the Earth would have cooled down to a suitable temperature for humans where global warming wouldn't be such a big problem anymore. This superpower will only be activated in extreme cases to still keep the efforts of ingenious humans who would develop and/or bring new and more ecological-friendly technology to the masses.
The benefits of this superpower are:
- Climate change will be solved
- Sea ice will stop melting
- It will reduce the number of extreme events that happen
- It will stop ocean acidification
We hope that with this superpower, humans will still have to be aware of global warming while still advancing to more ecological-friendly technology.

Hackathon Journey
The Space Apps experience was stressful as one of our team members couldn't attend the event because of personal issues. We learnt how to adapt to last-minute changes very quickly. Our team was inspired to choose this challenge because we all care about the climate very much and it suited us the best. We thought SuperpowEarth was also the least time-consuming which was good as our team members also had many other activities that they were doing. SuperpowEarth also required a lot of creativity which none of our teammates lacked. Many of us had other activities to do so it was difficult to coordinate times to meet, one of our team members also lived in a different timezone which made it even harder to find a time that suited all of us.
Journey:
After we decided to do 'If the Earth was able to regulate its temperature year round', we thought about how we should turn that into a superpower. This turned into 'The Earth can regulate its temperature year-round.'. Now, this seemed a little boring, so thought, 'What if we turned the superpower, into a character? Like one super-powerful being that would control the temperature of the Earth?'. We considered this for a while, such as heroes, and politicians, but we eventually settled on just a simple person, with the Earth as its head. The head also has a thermometer next to it, so it can tell how hot or cold the earth is.
