High-Level Project Summary
We developed a 3D hero that has the qualities we think represent NASA, with not only a web page with full information of NASA and the character but a classic game where we assure the attention of the public. Beyond solving this challenge, the other purpose of this project is to attract and gain the attention of the young audience. It is important because there is so much more we don't know, and we need to investigate about our planet and space. That is why we need the next and young generation to have an interest in the Earth, the universe and give them the spark of curiosity and motivation.

The challenge objective was to create a hero that represents NASA and to create a superpower. We wanted to take it to a whole different level.
Our project attracts any type of people and gives them the opportunity of being aware that they can become a scientist, physician, or someone that can contribute in the scientific area. The hero ¨Terra¨ is a way of approaching this audience and teach them about the planet Earth and NASA's characteristics; at the same time, it gives them a curiosity about space and what it involves (theories, physics laws, objects, etc). That is why we chose the power of controlling the strings of the universe (based on the string theory); we wanted to base the power on a scientific theory because even though this might sound impossible, there will be people that think it is possible and will start to get involved with this field.
We wanna awake people's potential, give them the spark to think about new theories, solutions, inventions, and knowing that it can be possible working with NASA.
We made a population search tendency to know what type of character will cause more impact on the young audience and due to the great acceptance of the anime style, we decided the aspect for our character. Our character is a 3D model (a glb. document) that works with any animation or 3D app, just by downloading its code that is available on our website. We used a free app called ¨Vroid Studio¨ that allowed us to create our character from the scratch and used ¨blender¨ to be able to animate it. We also discover that our character can be used as a filter, just like the ones Apple has (memoji). Also, we created a game to get the full attention of our public and in the future, we would like to develop it into a more sophisticated game. We used Gdevelop because it is a free app that is easy to understand the features they offer and has a great organization in terms of coding (programming coding).
To explain more about Terra's power of controlling the strings of the universe, it can solve any problem since everything is made of subatomic particles, and this theory postulates that these particles are ¨strings¨ with a specific vibration (if want to understand more, check the section ¨character¨ of our web page). This means that Terra can transform anything by manipulating these strings because, as we all know, if we change a single thing of a normal structure in a body, this will turn into a whole different thing. So for example, it can change the vibration of the atoms of the garbage in the city and turn them into organic material. This is just the tip of the iceberg for this incredible power because the possibilities of what he can do are infinite.
We also wanted to highlight the influence of Terra in the elements of life (fire, water, air, and earth) because we don't think it is a power but is part of him. The Earth is the combination and harmony of these elements, so we couldn't miss these important aspects of the planet and that's why is part of the game we developed.
The idea of the game is that when the player completes a level, these elements start to unlock until the last level, which is when the player can unlock the power of controlling the strings.
Our character has two uniforms: one for his missions and one for working with NASA. We used NASA's logo colors on the mission's uniform and for the formal one, we place the NASA's logo.
Hope you enjoyed our project as much as we loved doing it.
Space Agency Data
As you can see in the section ¨references¨, we used plenty of information to be as accurate as possible in terms of Earth's information. Since this project is focused on getting the attention of the public with our character, the best option we chose to attract was through visual images and videos, as well as interactive material offered by the pages of NASA. We gave the public organized information to know where they can search in the NASA web pages the information they are looking for.
We used the space agency data not only to build up our web page but to give Terra some of his characteristics; we wanted to create a character as accurate as possible with Earth and Nasa's features.
The information we gather about NASA's web pages and the Space Apps partner space agencies helped us to choose the superpower. Our planet is already awesome and the information we looked at just confirmed it, so seeing at the vast galleries they provide of the Earth and the space light up the idea of the power of the string theory.
Hackathon Journey
The experience of making a project in this Hackathon of Space Apps is just refreshing and incredible. There is always support for your ideas and they give you the tools to create something awesome, this journey opens doors for investigations, creativity, and teamwork. We learned about our planet and all the potential it has, as well as ours. This Hackathon just encourage us to develop something that can help someway someone and reminded us that there is always a place for something new in this world if we propose it. We were inspired to choose this challenge because we saw the potential of it; we could create anything we wanted and that idea liked us. This challenge was about creating a character from our imagination and there were almost no limitations.
As we have said, our focus was to attract a young audience and we wanted to create something unforgettable or something that stays always in people's minds. As a team, we discussed the objective of the challenge and the setback in order to achieve every goal we set and we are satisfied with the result.
For last, we would like to thank the organizers of this event because they gave us the opportunity to put our imagination again to work and to spent time working on this meaningful project as friends, as family, as a team, since some of us are changing path in our life. Thank you all for letting us participate as Glarker one more tome.
