ASTROGOSHI: Take care of your astronaut.

High-Level Project Summary

We prototyped a mock for the infamous Tamagotchi games, where the player takes care of an astronaut. The game is intended for young students to get used to technical names that astronauts will encounter during their trip to Mars. In such a way, the player discover the threat of space, the daily routine that astronauts needs and the acquires a new vocabulary that will be useful for the next generation of society, where everybody could visit the Moon.

Detailed Project Description

We imagine an app where the player is an astronaut going to Mars, and the other astronaut onboard needs support to be healthy and in a good mood. The game pops up messages, containing technical words that clues some aspects of the mission, to remind the astronauts about daily activities and their role on the trip. In such a way, the students are constantly learning new scientific words and their direct impact. Our goal is to inspire a new generation of students to take care of themselves, as an astronaut. We used the website www.figma.com to create low-middle resolution wireframes, and build ideas.

Space Agency Data

We used free available NASA articles as a starting point (1-3). However, it was a more fruitful and technical presentation at youtube directly addressing the issues of space travel (4) because it does have more technical terms that we were looking for.

Hackathon Journey

We chose the challenge based upon the members tallents and skills, in such a way that all the members can contribute. Also, the challenge could have a short time impact on students' lives. We are grateful for the training provided by our local Hackathon staff that guided us to complete this endeavour.
