Ajolote to Mars

High-Level Project Summary

We have developed a flowchart, an interface with a menu, map designs. We will educate the players present, we will guide them on this space journey with excellent dialogue, gameplay, education and above all that will ignite in the hearts of the users a great spark to travel into space, awaken their curiosity and make their avatar survive. Because our idea is a warm, inspiring, motivating and passionate game. We do not want to make it tediously educational, as the same population surveyed said the same thing.

Detailed Project Description

What exactly does it do? We will provide a solution to the problem through our research, imagination and creativity, based on a great adventure, story, dialogues with a lot of affection for all players.

How does it work? With a simple interface, through a flowchart that will determine the challenges through the difficulty selected by the player.

What are the benefits? Based on scientific studies, we will develop an educational game, entertainment, learning, fun and excitement among many pleasant emotions for the target population.

What do you hope to achieve? Awaken curiosity for space travel, educate the target population, inspire hearts to travel.

What tools, coding languages, hardware or software have you used to develop your project?

Drawing tools: Paint, Paint 3D, GIMP

Coding languages: Atom, Notepad

Translator: DeepL

Software: Windows 10 and Linux Elementary operating systems

Space Agency Data

How does your project leverage the use of spatial data?

We leverage it in such a way that it gives us excellent guidance on What do we need to do? And how do we have to do it? So that our project is as close to reality as possible, leaving aside the creativity that the respondents asked for.

How did the different spatial data inspire your project?

The data inspired and taught us in such a way many things we did not know, since in science fiction movies and video games is a generalized idea that many people have in mind, we thank you in advance for making this data available to us.

The same data guided us, showed us the risks, we have clear solutions that we will take into account and based on scientific facts, we will have a solid base of flowchart that will serve us for object oriented programming.

Hackathon Journey

How would you describe your experience with Space Apps? I am pleased to say that my first hackathon was with Space Apps, the experience is exciting, lots of adrenaline, little sleep, some stress to get things done quickly, but if a dream is true it will not let you sleep until it is fulfilled from one moment to another, that's what happened, I cried from the emotion many times, since last year I wanted to participate and finally I was given the opportunity. Whatever the outcome of my project, I am satisfied with the effort and work done!

What have you learned? I have learned a lot about space travel, I really didn't know a lot of things, that movies, science fiction video games are so detached from reality. I'm really so shocked by the amount of information that is out there, that I learned and that will be implemented in the game.

What inspired your team to choose this challenge? Actually the team was voted on by the 6 members of the team, the most voted project was The Trail to Mars: Can You Keep Your Crew Alive. Followed by Space Seeds and finally Secrets of the Sun, unfortunately two people who chose to develop the game had to withdraw for various reasons. For some reason things happen, the remaining members of the team were given the task of doing the work in parts, two people do 30% of the total and one does 40%.

What was your approach to develop this project? Solid bases with respect to applied surveys, flow charts for a good executable program, a lot of motivation from everyone to create an innovative, inspirational and motivational idea for the target audience.

How did your team solve the setbacks and challenges? We really improvised when two people suddenly left the team, from this improvisation we had to divide the work equally so as not to burden the other members too much.

The challenges were solved together through brainstorming among the team members plus the surveys applied to the target audience.

Is there someone you would like to thank and why?

Of course yes, I am enormously grateful to my best friend Ivonne Alejandra Diaz Torres, who at all times accompanied me, inspired me, helped me without leaving me alone and that same affection that we have for each other, creative, innovative, motivating and inspiring ideas for the game were born.
