Team Updates

A shout out to Diwa in India for helping me think that public domain still images from the NASA site adds value to the game, and helping sum up the concept as "Interactive Science Soap Opera For Kids" due to the serialized nature of the STEAM + Vocabulary content (the "A" being added for art -- if we put the satellite imagery in.)

Also, a shoutout for Lucas in Denmark for setting up the Discord Page so we can all talk at once. (I had no idea how to do that.). The address is:

Life is good, and the sun is rising in the Boston/Worcester area at 7:00 AM.

Dear Team (fearless coders all!)

I just want you to know that the web domain name "Jouneyto.io" is currently ours. That is right -- it ends in ".io" not ".com"! We don't have to use in for the Hackathon -- it might not launch in time. But we do have it parked.

I love GoDaddy.

8:49 PM ET/Boston, MA

Dear Team,

I expect I will be up for the next 14 hours, at my computer (with some time off for munchies) until the Boston kick-off event. Please feel free to leave messages here, or contact me through my gmail address, or via Zoom (which I am learning to bend to my will.)

I f I can't post the needed code snippets here due to formatting issues, I'll email you those 3 more items for discussion so any of us, when asked, will be on the same page as to why we -- as a team -- are pitching a STEM + Vocabulary, Science Fiction/Science Fact, serialized-game to 5th-to 8th graders (ages 10-14). I really don't want to leave off mentioning anyone's skill set and how it brings viability to our final product.

You were all chosen for you interest in space exploration and personal standards of excellence.

I look forward to getting your feedback as programmers and gamers as to how to keep things exciting for current students on their way to becoming future leaders.

We have not yet reached the heights of Humanity's technolgy -- there are still children who dream.

Thank you all, and looking forward to hearing from you.

Is everyone going to be available Sunday for the online presentation -- or with that present a problem?

Found tons of worthy snippets of information and citations -- too many to stuff into the project as it is right now.

As of this letter, I hope we can shut down the gates and close our team off at 3.

There is a 9 hour time difference between us, according to my world clock.

Because of that, I hope we will be able to file late Saturday Eastern Time/(Boston time zone) -- before 12:00 noon your time -- instead of waiting until the last minute and somehow missing the computer deadline.

I think if we file ahead, it gives the Judges more time to relax, look at the project if they want to do so early, then we will meet on my time Sunday to give them our presentation (if you two aren't dead-tired and already asleep!)

So, let us keep calm, and carry on!
