Hardcore to the second power

High-Level Project Summary

Space is a hostile environment; how can astronauts maintain alive and healthy during a long-term space mission to the Moon or Mars, or even beyond? A videogame, which objective is to keep the astronaut living, could be an important tool to learn all the risks pertaining to human spaceflight. I want to develop a Top-Down style, RPG video game where the player must monitor the astronaut vital signals and keep track of the completion of daily activities necessary to survive in a space environment, like exercising.

Detailed Project Description

“Hardcore to the second power” is the title of this RPG videogame. A character needs to stay alive and healthy during a voyage in space and the player should try to complete that objective. The player can pick various destinations like the Moon, Mars and even Super Earths.

Gameplay:

It starts with a crew of astronauts cruising in space with the mission to do scientific research and construct a base on a planet or satellite. During the game, as the player, you make the astronauts onboard do all the activities necessary to keep them sane and alive, like nutrition, hydration, defecation, exercise to mitigate the damaging effects on the body caused by microgravity, communication with loved ones, etc.

Game Difficulty:

The difficulty in the gameplay depends on the duration of the mission and the hostile environments encountered on a planet or satellite

The health risks pertaining to different time periods represent different difficulties.

Level 1: One year on the Moon.

Level 2: Three years on Mars.

Level 3: A lifetime on Mars.

Level 4: A year on a Super Earth.

I worked on this proyect individually, but I would've preferred to work in group, but as a first experience, it was a nice one
