We have developed a videogame that shows children interesting things about space traveling. The theme is a one-way trip to Mars in which you have to perform tasks to keep Matt (the astronaut) safe. It solves the challenge because our future is on children. With this project we pretend to generate interest in the new generations because the future of humanity is beyond the Earth's borders.
It is a videogame created to learn in a different and fun way.
We have based some of the tasks and educational posters on some real NASA facts to make it more real.
Its main benefit is that children like video games and with this one, they learn even more, because they like it.
We have used: Gdevelop, Piskel, powerpoint, word, discord
We have been inspired by some facts, such as radiation shielding, fuels and everyday life in zero gravity.

The experience has been a bit exhausting but fun and we have learned to telework in team. Our inspiration in this project were video games and the idea of being able to create one of our own.
Our plan from the beginning was to create a video game and when we found out that there was one for with teaching purposes we decided to take on the challenge.

This project has been submitted for consideration during the Judging process.
Long-distance space travel comes with a multitude of health risks, but it is difficult to imagine the combined effects of these risks, especially for those who are not fluent in NASA jargon. Your challenge is to create an educational game for middle schoolers (approx. ages 10-14) that focuses on keeping an avatar alive and healthy during a voyage from Earth to Mars and back, and that identifies the most difficult challenges and the biggest risks involved in human spaceflight.
