Classic is to Mars

High-Level Project Summary

With our Project, the player will enter a virtual trip to Mars, showing scenarios of the interior and exterior of a spaceship that will simulate the most serious problems that can be experienced on this trip, where he will identify dangers and will evaluate the risks generated, in order to control them in an intuitive and dynamic way through real corrective , preventive and / or predictive actions; These actions will be complemented with a feedback through informative dialog boxes that will allow sowing a safety and health culture together with a tacit learning of the basic and complex sciences used by astronauts, transmitting the knowledge with effective assertiveness to the player.

Detailed Project Description

Currently we have a society with a low level of education in basic sciences, safety and health culture, reflected in our schools and in the world of work through accidents or diseases that in most cases are due to unsafe acts, and that despite the effort to train or train are still repeated, therefore it is necessary to sow, in a new generation, the culture of safety that allows citizens aware of the identification of hazards, risk assessment and control to prevent accidents or illnesses. Generate a proactive learning to apply Risk Control strategies through areas such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Through the video game, we hope to sow a tacit learning of the great adventure that is to travel through space to harvest a future generation prepared.

Phyton, Sand box were used.

Space Agency Data

We used data from basically 3 sources:

One of the sources that provided great support in contemplating health risks was: "the health risks of extraterrestrial environments" encyclopedic site whose objective is to present a discussion of the space radiation environment and its health risks to humans.

In addition, "the Human Research program" was very useful to us as NASA has organized the hazards that astronauts will encounter on a continuous basis into five classifications.

Finally we used as a great source, NASA's "Space Biology Program" whose main objective of space biology research is to gain a better understanding of how spaceflight affects living systems on spacecraft such as the International Space Station (ISS).

Hackathon Journey

Participating in Space Apps is exciting, dynamic, motivating and allows us to organize ourselves as a team, regardless of the short time, delegating tasks with short deadlines, following up on each progress, reviewing, improving, putting effort in each dawn, without losing the touch of humor in each virtual meeting planned or improvised. The choice of the challenge inspires us because all the members of our team teach on-site or virtual classes and we are witnesses of the level of education that some students receive, so we want to be part of that grain of sand that we are sure will add to our new generation. One of the members of the team is also dedicated to Accident and Incident Prevention and was the one who motivated us to focus in this direction.

We thank our parents who at the time gave all their efforts to help us get ahead and now with their legacy we are left to continue the chain of support for our new generation.
