MARS, JUNE 2ND 2030During the first human mission to Mars, an unpredicted delayed happened. The return to Earth was postponed. Meanwhile a 14-days-long solar conjunction, when the sun is between the Earth and Mars, shuts down the communication with the space center on Earth. The user needs to answer correctly to multiple questions and decide the fate of the crew in Mars. For each event, two options are displayed.
The mission is a interactive game for mobile phones. The user can define the characters fate by clicking in one of the two options provided for each event. Not all events lead to the end and there isn't only one possible end. All the events were based on real hazards and challenges faced by astronauts on their way to the outer space.
Our main goal is to translate these challenges into an easier language, so they will become accessible to young people. The project regards the design of the app and the user experience. In that way, the app was not built, but created only in a prototype stage.

Learned to develop projects in the Adobe XD software and - of course - a lot about routine of astronauts and hazards in their way to Mars.

This project has been submitted for consideration during the Judging process.
Long-distance space travel comes with a multitude of health risks, but it is difficult to imagine the combined effects of these risks, especially for those who are not fluent in NASA jargon. Your challenge is to create an educational game for middle schoolers (approx. ages 10-14) that focuses on keeping an avatar alive and healthy during a voyage from Earth to Mars and back, and that identifies the most difficult challenges and the biggest risks involved in human spaceflight.
