Yupitech, the technology games that leaves a foot print

High-Level Project Summary

On Yupitech we have developed a game-play based on virtual reality to involve the players in a real environment as an astronaut experiment during the space missions.Space travels represent big risks for humankind, issues such as space radiation, isolation, distance from earth, experiment different gravity fields, and hostile environments. And, are you imagine be part of a space mission.. without leave to your home? Now that will be possible, you can achieve the big risks that the astronauts have every time they do a space trip, with your friends or players in whole the world, to live a real experience as an astronaut. With the game “LSS Ad Astra Play”, you can be part of a space crew!

Detailed Project Description

We have chosen the challenge: The Trail to Mars: Can You Keep Your Crew Alive?, why? becase Space travels carry high risks for humankind such as space radiation, isolation, changes in gravitational fields, hostile environments, among many others. For this reason, with our solution we are going to seek for both to develop essential technical skills for space travels and to raise the interest of youngsters through a video game based on virtual reality.

Here you will overcome the big challenges actual astronauts face. With your friends or global players you will experience space travel just as real as the one astronauts do.

“LSS Ad Astra Play” adapts to you. by making use of Machine Learning the game will learn how to make the experience even better. It will determine the best ways to challenge the players so that they can engage and learn more. Also, the game will generate useful information for space travels.

“LSS Ad Astra Play” will let you be part of a space crew with which you will travel to outer space. LSS Ad Astra Play is a VR game that can be played with your smartphone.

To launch your spaceship, you will only need to wear the LSS (Learn Space Suit) and you will be all set to go to infinity and beyond!

The game´s instructions are not complicated:

  1. You could gather your crew with your friends or join other players within the world. The crew will need at least 3 members.
  2. Once the game has started, each player will create an avatar. Make sure your crew has 1 pilot, 1 engineer and 1 doctor.
  3. After that, the crew will choose a special mission (to the ISS, to the Moon, to Mars, one of Jupiter's moons or even out of the milky way!
  4. Once your mission is settle, you journey will begin. To infinity and beyond!
  5. Through the journey, the crew will face many challenges such as do troubleshooting process of the spaceship with interactive OMMs, give first aids, make sure your are on the right path and won’t get lost! Time duration and difficulty will be up to the crew.
  6. During the journey and in your destination, you will have to do a list of tasks to make sure your spaceship stays in good conditions. This will let you access useful information to overcome next challenges and optimize your time in space.
  7. One you land on your destination, the crew will grow your own food, produce oxygen, and optimize the use of these resources. Build safe shelters and generate energy for the equipment to work.
  8. What matters in all of it? It is that all of it will be achieved just by playing. Yes! you will learn the basic steps of doing CPR, a little bit of history such as who discovered the planet the crew is landing on. Actual missions that have been done and the greatest challenges astronauts had to overcome that you and your crew will have to overcome as well!
  9. Come and join out space league “LSS Ad Astra Play” and be an astronaut!

This team is committed to help on teaching new tools without needing to leave home. What are you waiting for to join us?

Space Agency Data

GISS (Goddard Institute for Space Studies) derived datasets and studies: Datasets and derived material are available from the NASA GISS websites for research projects relating to climate simulations, climate impacts, exoplanets, astrophysics, clouds, etc.

Global Imagery Browse Services (GIBS): GIBS provides quick access to over 900 satellite imagery products, covering every part of the world. Most imagery is updated daily - available within a few hours after satellite observation, and some products span almost 30 years. The satellite imagery can be rendered in your own web client or GIS application.

Hackathon Journey

We learned to work as a team, we promoted dialogue and we approached our challenge from different perspectives.

we learn from each other and we are filled with the positive energy of the people in the challenge with whom we share the desire to improve the world

And we will never stop dreaming with the space!
