High-Level Project Summary
Our challenge is “unlocking the secrets of the sun”. For that we developed a mobile application “sunpedia” including an animated character “mr momentoon”. In this application, the user will be guided through the heliophysics mission: Parker solar probe. consequently, the user will be unlocking the secrets behind the data collected by this probe. This tool will improve public knowledge of the many spacecraft exploring the Sun – mainly Parker Solar Probe, giving the user easy access to reliable information accredited by NASA.

Detailed Project Description
When you’ll download the application, you will be referred to the home page, one of 4 tabs: home, challenges, videos, about. the user will :
Get familiar with the parker solar probe mission in the "home" tab.
Encounter several puzzles in the "challenges" tab.
Watch animated scientific episodes in the "videos" tab.
Learn more about Mr. Momentoon "about tab".
The benefit from our tool manifests in:
Raising public awareness about the importance of sun missions.
Triggering creativity
Developing problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Draw the attention to the importance of heliophysics missions, mainly the parker solar probe
The application runs an android software and it was developed using javascript programming language, in addition to react native and expo softwares.
Space Agency Data
All images & information used are from NASA’s resources on the Parker solar probe mission and heliophysics in general.
Considering the usage of these resources, we integrated them in our main goal from this challenge, which is to educate the users about the importance of the data collected in an interactive way, by means of short animated scientific videos that the user will have access to after solving a challenge.
Hackathon Journey
It was a remarkable experience that filled our hearts with delightness especially in the circumstances the Lebanese community is going through. This participation strengthened our communication skills, teamwork. Not to forget to mention that we have also learned about the heliophysics missions and their relation to space weather. On the other hand, at some point we needed to learn new skills in app development to proceed in building our mobile application.
First of all we want to thank the organizers of the NASA Space Apps Challenges for giving us the opportunity to be a part of such a remarkable event. Especially as members in Momenteam ( physics club at the Lebanese University) it’s important for us to raise Lebanon’s name in such important events
