APP THAT ALERT PEASANTS ABOUT SOLAR PHENOMENA

High-Level Project Summary

-An application will be developed that can alert farmers and farmers about the solar phenomena that can affect both them and their crops.-The application is a way in which, through the data obtained from the Parker solar probe, we will help the rural people of Boyacá to care for and improve their crops, which will make them give greater importance to the sun and its influence on agriculture .-The farmers are affected by continuous solar phenomena that cannot avoid a lack of knowledge, therefore this application will warn them and advise them what to do when one of these changes occurs and thus improve the quality of their crops and their personal health

Detailed Project Description

What exactly does it do:

-The application through notifications will alert and offer possible solutions to solar events that happen in the area at that time and will also give predictions about the phenomena that could occur in the future

How does it work

-Through the data provided from the Parker solar probe and other ships that investigate the sun, we will collect this information and make predictions about the solar phenomena that affected crops in Boyaca, in order to warn and provide solutions to these through the application.

Which has benefits?

-Information for farmers to know more about the solar climate and how it affects their crops, giving solutions and predictions about these phenomena for the improvement of the quality and quantity of production of their crops and the farmers' own health against diseases caused by continuous exposure to sunlight

What do you hope to achieve?

-We expect an increase in quality and quantity in the production of agricultural food in Boyaca, an improvement in the health of farmers and farmers, awareness about the influence of the sun in agriculture and support in this project to be able to extend it to more municipalities

What tools, coding languages, hardware or software used to develop your project?

Through appyet, which is a tool that will allow us to create this application, we will use it to see what a prototype of our application would look like, but it is planned in the future to use a different method to create this app, which is more personalized and no intervention from external networks

Space Agency Data

We extract the data from the NASA space agency in the Scientific Gateway part of the solar probe parker, which we will use data such as:

Solar Wind Electrons Alphas and Protons (SWEAP) Top-hat electrostatic analyzer (ESA) measures 3D ion distributions every 0.216 seconds. Mass Discrimination: It can separate protons from alpha and other heavy ions.

Which measures partial moments of the solar wind, since the field of view (FOV) is partially obstructed by the heat shield

-to measure the Solar Winds:

Electrons Alphas and Protons and FIELDS we use the parker probe through a process in which measurements of the Solar Wind are used

and collects the energy electron flow and its results and reveals a number of trends in heat flow signatures

Hackathon Journey

How would you describe your experience with Space Apps?

The excellent truth, it is an interesting experience to be able to solve a challenge in our case (discovering the mysteries of the sun) and to be able to enjoy this moment as a team with colleagues.

You learned?

The different phenomena that the sun produces and diseases that affect our farmers and their crops, how to create an application

What inspired your team to choose this challenge?

We were inspired to be able to contribute something to our Boyacá peasant community, developing the application so that they can be informed of the various phenomena and how they and their crops can be protected.

What is your approach to developing this project?

Our approach to developing this project is to improve the current state of crops and the health of the Boyacá peasant community and its crops.

How did your team resolve setbacks and challenges?

We solved it by working as a team and by informing ourselves in detail about the data obtained from the parker solar probe through reading and learning processes, and by informing ourselves of the problems that our farmers have with solar radiation.

Is there someone you would like to thank and why?

To our teacher Adriana del Pilar Vega pinzón for guiding us, encouraging us and supporting us in the process of developing the challenge.
