High-Level Project Summary
Our goal is to provide an immersive and interactive tool for everybody who wants to learn more about our Sun. We developed a dynamic website with a friendly interface using Vue and Materialize. Sunlapse was created with the single purpose of showing people how and why it is meaningful to study and understand the behavior of our closest star. We have the mission of helping the public to have a clear idea of how our star impacts the way we live, work, and play.To achieve this goal, we used data, images, and videos directly from NASA. And more specifically from the Solar Dynamics Observatory and the Parker Solar Probe websites.

Detailed Project Description
Our project has the purpose of summarizing all the data generated from NASA on a single website. This will help the user to find a meaningful and easy way to understand the main topics related to the sun:
- how it works
- why it's so important
- the solar cycle
- how it has an impact on our lives
- the space weather
- the missions
We choose a web app because it is the best way to engage a large number of people. Everybody, with a dispositive connected to the internet, will have access to it. For this project, we decided to use Vue and Materialize, both front-end frameworks. We worked on GitHub in order to have better communication and synchronize all our work.
We used data, images, and videos directly from NASA. And more specifically from the Solar Dynamics Observatory and the Parker Solar Probe websites. We tried to integrate all these resources in a different and significant way. With this, the user gets interested not only in the content but also in what they see.
What's next? We are going to integrate more sections into the website. Also, we will try to achieve the next level of interactivity with a simulator. It'll use all the data collected by the Parker Solar Probe. Our objective is to show the activity of our star (the corona, the solar wind, and the position of the probe relative to the Sun).
Space Agency Data
Firstly, we were using different resources provided by nasa such as images, data bases, videos and simulators but one of the most useful was the NASA Heliophysics page which provided the images that we used to create our video and also inspired us to keep learning more about our sun.
Secondly, we luckily found lots of simulators and informative pages about our sun but we had problems trying to decide which of them were the most appropriated to include in our project, however we discussed this problems and found the best solution.
Hackathon Journey
We chose this challenge because we discovered that almost everybody knows basic things about the sun, but nothing related to how the solar cycle affects our lives or the missions with the purpose of unlocking the secrets of the sun.
It was not a normal workflow, we had some difficulties but we were able to overcome them.
