HELIOS EXPLORER

High-Level Project Summary

Team Hydra presents the project “Helios Explorer“ to visualize what one can never imagine sittingunder the roof. This project digs into deep insights into how Nasa’s one of the most eminent satellitePARKER SOLAR PROBE takes a journey around the sun to witness some amazing facts. You will get toknow the trajectory PSP is going to follow and what is its application. This app is highly engaging anduser interactive. The technology used in virtual reality. It also explains the significance of Venus’gravitational field strength in the process of reaching around the sun. The visualization can easily makea layman understand what is happening in one of the most complex missions of all time.

Detailed Project Description

The technology used in this project is Virtual Reality(VR). Virtual reality enhances one’s visualization and helps them think out of the box. The software used in this project is in Unity. It tries to explain the trajectory of Parker Solar Probes as well as its application in an easy way. This application is highly user interactive. It takes the user to space virtually. For creating the path we have used C# as the coding language. The UI of the project is user engaging and simple. As you will enter the application user enters into a virtual space where he/she can explore the trajectory, structure of the satellite, and many more. Users can also understand the mechanism PSP is using to reach the sun. The main benefit of this project is that it helps laymen to understand one of the most complex projects of all time in an easy and efficient way. The expectation from this project is that anyone either having or not having a science background should easily understand some significant projects related to space which one or the other way affects everyone’s life.

Hackathon Journey

The journey of the hackathon was full of learning and also we came to know some brainstorming facts about space, Parker Solar Probe, and many more. Due to this project we got to know some most amazing secrets about the sun. The two days journey helped to enhance our spectrum about solving problems. Several times we sat and did brainstorming sessions to solve the hackathon problem statement. The thought behind choosing this topic was that through our project common people should learn about some most complex missions of all time as well as we wanted that through our project people should make their spectrum of knowledge about the nucleus of the solar system wider. The main approach we followed was to provide users better visualization and for that, the technology we focused on is virtual reality. Our team would like to give the credits to the technical and innovative club of our college, INNOGEEKS.
