High-Level Project Summary
At the moment, there are only mini-drills on rovers that dig to a depth of no more than 7 cm and do not have sufficient power and strength. ?Due to the lack of chemical analysis of rock, worthless samples are delivered to the Earth, which means a waste of time and resources.Our idea is to create a structure that will dig to a great depth using a winch mechanism.The resulting samples will be examined in situ using spectroscopy, which is used on the Perseverance rover.

drill work
the drill is powered by an electric motor on a winch
the electric motor is powered by solar panels that charge the batteries
from the batteries a wire goes to the winch and through it the wire goes to the electric motor
the electric motor has bearings on which the drill itself is suspended
below there is a bit that drills, there are recesses in it where sand and stones get into during drilling
when the drill rises, a pumping pipe comes out that sucks in all these stones and sends them to 2 compartments
stones fall into 1 compartment and sand gets into the other, passing through a sieve
there is scanning and if such a sample has already come across then the compartment throws it out
during scanning, all information is displayed on the computer and transmitted using the transmitter to the ground
DRILLING PROCESS
the drill starts spinning, the winch lowers the drill lower and lower
so that the soil does not collapse on the drill, there is a special glass
while drilling, the glass begins to lower and closes the walls of the drilled place from the drill
thereby helping not to collapse the walls on the drill

analysis compartment analyzes the extracted soil
batteries are powered by solar panels and charge electric motors
solar panels collect energy
a winch helps to lower the drill deeper and deeper on a strong cable
protective cover for the winch protects the winch from external hazards
