High-Level Project Summary
The Artemis Next-Gen Space Scouting is a redesigned version of the existing common extension handle and the proposed Space Trident extension handle. Mainly by focusing on having better maneuverability and a comfortable tool change. On the other hand, we wanted to demonstrate the infinite possibilities of tools that can be attached to the Extension handle. We also propose an original design for a new multitool capable of performing the task of a hammer, chisel, ruler, hexagonal socket wrenches, and a razor. The multitool can help in many operations for the astronauts, such as break and measure a rock, adjust a mechanism, and even cut something they want.

Rake:
This tool is used for exploration on some planets and natural satellites in the recollection of small rocks and pebbles with diameters larger than one centimeter. It's designed to link in a standard handle.
Multi-tool:
As the name says, this tool is designed with multiple tools; with a hammer, with a chisel, with a ruler tool that measures centimeters, with mechanical and hexagon wrenches tools and with a razor. The multitool can help in many operations for the astronauts, such as: break and measure a rock, adjust a mechanism and cut everything that they wanted.
Big scoop:
It’s used for the exploration on some planets and natural satellites, recollecting material samples that can include some liquid substances; such as mud and water. It has a width of 6.6 centimeters and 10.41 centimeters of depth.
Small scoop:
It’s used for the exploration on some planets and natural satellites, recollecting material samples that can include some liquid substances; such as mud and water. It has a width of 11.2 centimeters and 20.3 centimeters of depth.
Extension Handle:
A shaft is used as a handle. It has a T-handle and a wheel-handle. At the bottom is located a socket, to link it to the stem.
Stem:
This shaft is used as the common stem of the toolset. There is an angle locking mechanism at the bottom where the tool heads (Scoops and rake) can be locked by simply pulling the lock pin.
Space Agency Data
Most of the data we used was obtained from the Apollo 16 & 17 Press Kit and the resources given in the challenge, we obtained the specific features of some of the tools used in those missions. That information was useful to consider the dimensions of the models and the needs we identify to propose our multi-tool design.
Hackathon Journey
Overall, the experience has been very challenging. As a team we were not that familiar with each other and from the beginning putting together all the ideas was not an easy task. Each one of us studies a different discipline and that at first made decisions difficult to make, however, over time we managed to fit our ideas together and this diversity led us to have even more enriching ideas since each one had his own point of view from his particular discipline.
The decision to take this challenge was not so difficult, we analyzed the possibilities and especially the skills that each member of the team had and we realized that our strengths were 3D design and web development. So this challenge was made for us.
We learned things that we did not expect, several of us considered that the modeling part would be the simplest, however we realized that given the complexity of the challenge we had to take into account various working conditions and that we had to keep them in mind while we were advancing in our designs .
It was a real challenge to work with different hs software and generate an organic integration that would allow the design to function properly. We strongly reinforce the idea that each individual has something important to teach.
To develop the project we had to take into account all the needs and conditions in which our designs would work. The idea is always to generate models or tools that allow meeting all the expectations that are necessary to model at this level. Take into account the radiation, the stress that can be generated, that the tool was practical and easy to manipulate or resistant and specially we wanted it to be made from innovative ideas because anyone can give existing idea, but not everyone is capable of generating new ones.
