Sunflower

High-Level Project Summary

During the 36-hour process, an interactive application was developed to educate people about reducing the excessive use of resources and the pollution that is generated when processing carbon due to the use of other non-renewable energies, this through Research on the Sustainable Development Goals. and NASA resources. This project is considered important because today we have to start taking care of existing resources, since the inappropriate use that human beings have given it in recent decades has caused its deterioration, so what SunFlower intends is to educate the population so that better understand renewable energy.

Detailed Project Description

SunFlower is an application that provides information on the importance of solar energy, as a renewable option, weather information through NASA Power and also helps to manage if your living space is viable to have panels. It is aimed at a target population of 25 to 40 years to raise awareness regarding the problems that the world currently has and provide them with a small solution.

It works as a source of information and interaction once so that the population has an idea to implement the panels and the correct conditions to place them.

It has different sections, in some you will find important information and in others you will find advice on how to place the panels and meteorological data so that you know in real time how much the climate in the area will favor or harm the panels

With this project we hope to achieve many things such as, contribute a grain of sand to reduce the current chaos that the world has, create awareness in others or at least leave that little bit of curiosity that you can help the planet with renewable energy and demonstrate the ability of young people to seek solutions to problems that society has today

On a personal level, we hope to close this project with more experience in topics that we did not fully master at first, create a feeling of self-improvement, improve teamwork skills, have an experience of what it is like to work on something big in a reduced time. and know that this is the first of many projects.

The tools we use for this project are the following:

No native code was used, an indirect code was used through framer to make the prototype, the design of this was done almost from scratch in figma and photoshop.

If the project were to be launched, everything is ready to migrate the prototype to code in Java, Javascript and react.

Space Agency Data

The NASA POWER tool was used as a reference simply to mount an unmanageable prototype. (But everything is ready in case of passing it to APP to make it work)

Hackathon Journey

We did this project with the idea of creating awareness in the population of the importance of renewable energies and informing a little about solar panels.

The space apps is a unique experience in which we were able to combine different talents and develop a solution for a topic that caught our attention, we met new people and received help from very great people.

We had several setbacks in which the programs fell out, the internet went away and at first we didn't really know what to do, but with good communication and a little patience, everything was resolved well.
