MAKE IT SHINE

High-Level Project Summary

Aim:develop a mobile application that accesses the information available via the NASA POWER web services portal and provides useful data associated with sunshine to the general public in an accessible manner. Objective: • Based on a given user's location the nearest suitable place and its distance for a solar panel will be display associated with temperature, Humidity, and wind. • Display a clearly labeled graph for the available sunshine and time. • Display information's about the types of solar panels. • A power calculator that calculates the needed power based on solar panels number.

Detailed Project Description

Description:

Many people would like to start using solar energy, but they have difficulty understanding the complex numbers that websites show about the power of solar energy and do not know where to start. Therefore, we chose this challenge to create an application that helps the general public understand solar energy readings clearly and simply. Initially, Using the Flutter software development kit and android studio. the user will specify the location by select the city. A Graph will appear showing the average solar rays in weeks for the city, along with humidity and temperature. The menu bar, located in the top-left corner of the screen, contains(homepage, types of solar panels ,calculator the power , settings). power calculator calculates the power produced by a certain number of solar panels in a particular city.

Space Agency Data

Using NASA's Prediction of Worldwide renewable Energy Resources (POWER) web services portal, we will be able to determine the suitable place in the user location for solar panels based on Solar irradiance, temperature and humidity.

Hackathon Journey

It was an exceptional experience and a good opportunity for us as students to learn new things in programming, design, and application developmentalso get to learn new things in the renewable energyfield.

Though we didn’t have a lot of time we are proud of what we have achieved.

Lastly, We would like to thank the Saudi space commission for Giving us a chance to be part of this great experience.
