This year’s NASA Space Apps Challenge is the 4th in Addis Ababa. Considering the COVID-19 Space Apps Challenge of 2020, it is the 5th Space Apps Challenge and the 3rd one that the Addis Ababa Leads coordinate virtually.
This year’s event is a special one as the Ethiopian Space Science and Technology Institute (ESSTI) joins the coordination of the event. Prior to this year, the Space Apps Challenge Hackathons have been organized with immense passion and enthusiasm, but with lack of profound knowledge and support on Space Science and Technology. But this year, with the Ethiopian Space Science and Technology (ESSTI) and its professionals onboard, our Space App Challenge enters a new league.
This year, the Local Leads along with ESSTI will reach out to space enthusiasts starting from the age of 10 all the way up to college students. Hence, high school students, TVET college students and University students are all welcome!
Side programs will be organized that will provide our participants the opportunity to discuss with experts from ESSTI and other pool of experts from around the world to provide insights to space science and space technologies in the form of telecons and/or recorded videos.
