Hop into our Discord (chat platform) to ask questions, find a team, and more! Discord is our virtual venue for the event. Events and opening/closing ceremonies will be held over Zoom.

What is the event like? đŸĒ

In the Space Apps Hackathon, teams will have access to NASA's free and open data to produce, within a 48-hour period, open source solutions to the challenges we face today on Earth and in space.

Check the Participant FAQ for more information!

Who can participate? đŸ‘Ē

Space Apps is for everyone! This includes those who have never "hacked" before! All passionate problem solvers are encouraged to join - students, experts, engineers, makers, artists, and storytellers. While some of our challenges are technical, others ask you to use your artistic skills, your business acumen, and your historical imaginations! In other words, YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A CODER to be part of Space Apps. In fact, the most diverse teams are often the most successful!

Where will the event take place? 🌐

The NASA Space Apps Challenge will be VIRTUAL and take place primarily over Discord. However, we encourage you to meet with your team at Pasadena City College to collaborate and work together!

About your Local Lead, She.Codes 👩‍🚀👩‍đŸ’ģ

We are She.Codes, a club at Pasadena City College who seeks to bridge the gender gap in STEM with an emphasis on Computer Science and Engineering. We support and encourage our fellow students in engineering, providing a sense of community, work to dismantle the untrue stereotype that engineering is not a career for women and advocate to have all genders more equally represented in the field of technology.
