    • Get ready with pro-tips for our 2021 event so you can hit the ground running. The session included an excellent panel discussion of winning strategies with past Space Apps participants and judge, Jeff Rayner of MXTreality. It was moderated by Sean McClinton of Seattle Space Entrepreneurs.
  • Hacking Deep Dive - Thurs, Sept 23rd (Registration Link)
    • Join us for a discussion of how to work with space-related data sets and the tools to bring your Space Apps projects to life.
    • Speakers: Michael Patrick (GIS expert and serial hackathon participant) and Pranab K. Roy Chowdhury (Professor at UW).

Astraea is a startup located in Charlottesville, Virginia, enabling individuals & organizations to unlock insights from geospatial data at global scale. Astraea's cloud-native platform, EarthAI, provides the tools and infrastructure required to build production-level analytics on satellite, aerial, and drone imagery. EarthAI includes Earth OnDemand: a curated database of global analytics-ready imagery and EarthAI Notebook: a fully hosted and managed JupyterLab Notebook designed specifically to analyze raster data at scale, all powered by RasterFrames: a free and open-source toolkit allowing data scientists, analysts, and software developers to process and analyze geospatial-temporal raster data with the same flexibility and ease as any other data type in Spark DataFrames.

About the Space Apps Challenge - Seattle

NASA’s International Space Apps Challenge takes place each year over the course of 48 hours to spark innovation on NASA challenges that benefit missions in space and life on Earth.

  • Build a team
  • Pick your challenge from NASA’s missions or bring your own
  • Hack away! 

You have two days to build your project and put it before the judges.

  • You love hardware. Yes! Hardware projects welcome – Space Apps is more than “apps”! Bring your love for boards and dream up a solution for Earth or your own mission in space.
