We’re bringing Space Apps to Newfoundland and Labrador for the first time!
Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS-Canada) will be co-hosting Space Apps in St. John’s with the MUN Ocean Sciences Undergraduate Society (OceanUS) and MUN Engineering Society. This is your chance to be a part of the largest hackathon in the world while bringing forward solutions to the most pressing issues in space and on Earth. The 10th annual NASA International Space Apps Challenge is taking place virtually from October 2nd - 3rd, and we’ll be nominating one team from the province to compete at the international event.
Who can participate?
Space Apps is open to everybody, no matter your age or background. Diverse teams of four are often the most successful with artists, designers, scientists, engineers, technologists, entrepreneurs, storytellers, makers, students, and so on. You don’t need any prior coding experience! If you have a passion for space and enjoy working with others to solve important problems, you're strongly encouraged to participate!
What do I need to participate?
All you will need is a computer or laptop with a stable internet connection. Slack will be used for all communications leading up to and during the St. John's event, so we recommend you download both the desktop and mobile app after registering. We'll get you added as soon as possible and help you prepare!
Can I register if I don't have a team yet?
Yes! You don’t need a team to register today. We're going to pair you up with others as the competition approaches!
Stay in touch!
If you have any questions about the event, please don’t hesitate to reach out to one of the St. John's local leads on the right-hand side of the page. Also, make sure to follow our Instagram and Facebook page for updates on the local prizes, speakers, sponsors, schedule, and more. We can't wait to see you and your team take on one of NASA's challenges!!!
