YOUR LOCAL LEAD

My name is Reese! I’m a member of the Space Apps Global Organizing Team. I’ll be your Universal Event Local Lead for Space Apps 2021. I’ll be available from now until the end of the hackathon to help guide you through the journey, answer your questions, and connect you to resources. As the hackathon nears, I'll let you know about upcoming dates and events -- both for Space Apps as a whole and as I plan a few special events for Universal Event participants, in particular.

Starting in July, I'll also be sending messages to all Universal Event participants through the Space Apps dashboard. Please check your Space Apps inbox for the latest news!

FIND ANSWERS

Find basic information to guide your Space Apps journey under the “Welcome” tab (above). You can also check out the Participant FAQ and other guides (on the chat rooms, team formation, and project submission), which are now posted. All of the guides will be posted on the Resource page.

CONNECT TO THE COMMUNITY

Leading up to the hackathon, I will be organizing a few interactive virtual events for participants to engage in. Mark out time during your hacking to join in on the fun! For now, share your own journey with the Space Apps community! Connect to use via social media (follow the links in the footer of this page). And use #SpaceApps on your social media platforms.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

1. Register now for the Space Apps Universal Event by selecting the "Register" button on the right side of the page.
2. Once you’ve registered, keep an eye out in your Space Apps inbox for messages from me, Reese, your Universal Event Lead. (Login to your account, and select “My Account” in the menu bar. You’ll see a link to “Communications” on the right-hand side.) I will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
3. Log in the week prior to the hackathon to join the chat rooms and start forming teams. You will be able to form a team from members of any location or create a team with other members of the Universal Event. (Our chat rooms will have dedicated channels for Universal Event participants.) More information on these items coming soon!
