High-Level Project Summary
A playful artistic installation is developed, which consists in the representation of the Lucy mission. The challenge begins with an illustrative art video of the mission and the installation consists in to represent the location of the Trojan asteroids using an innovative medium such as the lighting effects with UV and neon lights, it is also set with space sounds from NASA. The importance of this project lies in motivating students to learn and apply science and knowledge that NASA scientists develop, that means, it contributes to scientific dissemination to promote more critical skills and knowledge of their environment in the educational community.

Detailed Project Description
What exactly does it do?
This is a playful artistic installation , An installation is a three dimensional design that changes the perception of the space and is playful for learning because visitors can play to give directions to the Space Probe through the different asteroids and their orbits
How does it work?
This installation was developed in a classroom 5x5 meters, the windows were covered with black plastic because it is necessary to create a dark room to give the illusion of space, we use 8 UV black long light lamps ,neon paint, neon colored cardboard and paper lamps , with these materials we represent the solar system, Visitors can walk through the installation and see the location of the Trojan asteroids, between Jupiter and the Sun
What benefits does it have?
This artistic Installation is beneficial in several respects. First, it captures scientific knowledge in an environment that simulates space, giving the visitor the sensation of visiting the space between the steroids, observing them and listening to the sounds of Lucy mission. In addition, curiosity is motivated to know what is beyond the Earth and the avidity for astronomical knowledge that is projected in the video as an introduction to the entrance of the installation. Another benefit is that students combine artistic skills with research skills and transfer of what they have learned. Through this project creativity is stimulated in the use of NASA resources for the expression of ideas
What do you hope to achieve?
At the end of this project, it is expected to obtain a creative expression of high impact on the visitors of the installation. The impact can be measured by the degree of satisfaction of the visitors. It is also desired to achieve a strong motivation in research and the selection of information regarding the subject of Trojan asteroids that in the future this mission will provide knowledge for the planet.
These types of activities promote the skills of the 21st century in young people, among them are problem solving, teamwork, communication, time management, and the use of technologies that are clearly promoted in this challenge.
The project is inclusive, it allows easy entry, through the subtitled video and with audio includes deaf or blind people.Through the installation it is possible to interact and identify the distribution and spatial location of the Trojan asteroids in relation to the sun that all we identify
What tools, coding languages, hardware, or software did you use to develop your project?
Cup Cut video Editor Long UV lamps, neon paint, black plastic, black cloth, cardboard, markers, pencils, talking scissors, cell phones with cameras.
Space Agency Data
From the link Lucy Mission Page (Sempsrott, 2021), the information is obtained about the launch of Lucy and about the origin of the name of the expedition and its objective, it is related to the hominid Lucy who provided unique information on the evolution of humanity, and Lucy will gather planetary information that will surely be the origin of great discoveries.
In the publication “NASA will carry out the preliminary information session on the launch of Lucy” (NASA, 2021), information is shared about the importance of the Lucy mission and a relevant fact is that it will be the first spacecraft to travel the distance of Jupiter and return to Earth's neighborhood and explore a record number of asteroids.
In the article Meet the Lucy Team: Genevieve Taylor we met the team of researchers and designers working on the Lucy project. It is really inspiring to meet the people and their responsibilities. By the way, it is a great team !!
The sound of the Mission Lucy is great for the introduction of the video that is projected before entering the installation to create that feeling of entering the space
The video shows the location and trajectory that Lucy will follow and also the functions of each part of the ship that we use to build the model for the filming that recreated Lucy's journey in the installation. Goddard provides overall mission management, systems engineering, and safety and mission assurance. Lockheed Martin Space in Littleton, Colorado, built the spacecraft.
From the video Studying Trojans with Lucy, information was obtained about one of the mission objectives, which is to confirm the possible shapes and textures of asteroids through the parts of Lucy.
Hackathon Journey
As its name indicates, it was a challenge in which we put all our skills into practice, and we achieved significant learning by making use of scientific information in a practical way. This has motivated us to continue learning about the world in which we live and also from the ways in which we can learn relevant information of global interest.
We learned scientific knowledge about Lucy's mission and its importance in investigating Trojan asteroids. We also learned that NASA with its research has made scientific advances and this is transcendental for the development of humanity
Being able to inform people of a current event, the launch of the Lucy probe and its importance for the knowledge of the universe. Our second reason ,When we were children we always dreamed of knowing the space, we had the desire to know what exists beyond and in this way we are doing it and helping others to do it too.
Give truthful information based on what NASA provides us and use this to educate through art and a clear and short video
We distribute the responsibilities according to the abilities of the members that we have in the team in this way we manage to work despite the short time for sending the project.
We want to thank our tutors who were helping , they gave us time to solve our doubts and support us.
