Never Before

High-Level Project Summary

We have found bringing art into a such scientific topic interesting to work with as combining skills and disciplines can lead to great outcomes. As it helps to understand the topic entirely it assists people that don’t have much knowledge of such principles. With that goal in mind, we tried to bring forth a project that not only was articulate at explaining but in terms that everyone can easily perceive. What we’ve done so far is really important and extraordinary in our opinion due to the unawareness about scientific issues in public. Without a doubt, it is really hard today to find materials that tell the accurate information about science specifically in arts and we tried to do that .

Detailed Project Description

Our project consists of two main elements. One being a meticulously composed song that was deeply considered to every fine detail and the other one being a fun, creative , an educative video that both supports our main message in our song but also underlines the fun part , provides insight into the mission of Lucy itself.

Space Agency Data

We used iMovie for editing the video. We used our phones to shoot the video.

We used Wikipedia for information about Lucy Mission. We used the video on youtube for learning about Lucy’s main pieces. We went on NASA’s site to look for information regarding Lucy and we integrated them into our project. We watched great videos that are significant and special, beautifully made by NASA to understand the work , the instruments and the mission wholly .

Hackathon Journey

This challenge was educational. We learned how to edit a video, obviously about a spacecraft called Lucy that we previously has no idea even existed. It was our first experience with such a project that is on a bigger scale and combined many things such as art and science together. Our choice was this challenge because we thought it would be unusual and an interesting way to convey the message, illustrate what was asked through a form of art -song for us-. It was special to us as we all worked on it, that we spent time trying to put it together. It was a great opportunity for us to test our teamwork skills as well as challenging our creative powers, research abilities. We did face some setbacks as we thought we didn’t have enough time to make the exact vision in our heads come true but in the end, we are grateful for our teacher who encouraged us along the way. She made us all feel supported and at peace, she was there to reassure and help if we wanted assistance.
