Lucy

High-Level Project Summary

My poem shows both diversity that the mission explores and it's importance. Turning scientific facts into verses and adding to them "soul" could help a non scientific person to understand the greatness of this step in exploring the space. My poem is hoped to touch human hearts, as it is universal language to deliver the cruel information that NASA scientists are trying to spread.

Detailed Project Description

How can we know what is the glory

Of upcoming days when missing the story

Missing the history of whole existence

Keeping the answers at arm’s length distance

Lucy has shown us once, who are us?

Lucy will show as now, what is earth?

Not way to Asgard, not journey to Mars

Trapped asteroids carry secrets of birth

In four billion miles from ground and sky

Space left us questions, it waits for reply

Surrounded by golden landscapes of autumn

Lucy will go, yes Lucy will fly

12 years, 7 asteroids and 1 spacecraft

Hope’s singularity braking through dark

Trojan heroes, Greek gods, who knew we will meet

Once more you are flaming the scientist’s spark

First – DonaldJohanson, our guide, and locally “child”

one hundred thirty million years, is it too wild?

Eurybates – the only collisional C-type

Why is it alone, and what is it’s satellite

Polymele first ever P type reached

Could we find organics if have ever been

Leucus our slow friend as they pitched

Four hundred forty six hours for spin

Patroclus, Menoetius – duo of giants

Planets aligned for our meeting

Sounds us ununderstandable science

But mate, take it wider, ponder the linking

Didn’t you notice diversity, greatness

Hugeness of picture we trying to witness

It’s science, and science is time in the flow

Ones that are late are out forgiveness

How can we know what is the glory

Of upcoming days when missing the story

Missing the history of whole existence

Keeping the answers at arm’s length distance

Let’s open the capsule it’s time to know

Watch Lucy fly and steal the show

Space Agency Data

I was inspired by the fact that asteroids are trapped on Saturn's orbit

Used NASA database for describing destinations of the spacecraft

Hackathon Journey

It was the first time I participated in Hackaton. It teached me that time is everything
