High-Level Project Summary
YourHarmoni is essentially an "upgraded" version of MySejahtera that aims to provide a better and more effective contact tracing solution. MySejahtera was created to provide users contact tracing detection to protect themselves against Covid-19. However MySejahtera has multiple limitations, causing it to not be able to provide a thoroughly effective contact tracing method. This is where YourHarmoni comes in. YourHarmoni has multiple features that allows it to give more advanced, high level contact tracing and risk warning techniques using governmental, geo-located, sensor-based data gathering and processing, directly solving this year's challenge. Through this, people will be a lot safer.

In essence, YourHarmoni implements its contact tracing methods similar to that of MySejahtera, in the sense that it gets the users' history of check ins of different premises and locations and determines whether they have made close contact with positive cases. When someone who is not infected checks in into a premise at the same time with another person who's infected, MySejahtera will notify them that they have been in close contact with a positive case. YourHarmoni takes things further by implementing three main features to bring its contact tracing methods to a whole new level.
First feature: When a user scans the qr code of the premise that they are about to enter, they will be alerted of the recent covid-19 cases and close contacts that have happened in the premise. This is to give a "heads up" to the user and the opportunity to choose whether they want to proceed or go to another place with a lower risk. This will prevent users from getting exposed to high risk areas, thereby preventing them from getting infected. As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure.
Second feature: Users can search for the premises and locations that they want to enter and check the recent history of covid-19 cases and close contacts in said premises. This is to help them plan ahead and avoid wastage of time, as they can decide which premise is safer to go to to buy groceries for example. If the premise they initially plan to go to has a high risk, then they can choose to go somewhere else. Users can also directly check in into those premises before hand to prevent themselves from queing up and gathering in large crowds to scan the qr code of the premise which they might get infected that way, creating a contact-free check in system. Each premise has one "admin phone" for each of their entrance that will detect the presence of the phones of users who have checked in beforehand, thereby confirming the check in. To prevent the abuse of direct check ins, however, you can only choose the premises that are within a 3km radius from your location for direct check ins.
Third feature: Users can get real-time covid-19 cases and close contacts in their housing area or current location. We made use of data from numerous space agencies to obtain satelite data to get the user's current location, similar to how Google Maps works and implement it with the data from the Ministry of Health to give accurate covid 19 case and close contact reports.
For the app, we have used the Flutter app development framework made by Google to code the app, which uses Dart as its main programming language. Flutter is a great tool as it mitigates a lot of the tedious work an app developer needs to go through in order to build a mobile app from scratch. We also used data provided freely and publicly by the Ministry of Health to get the daily covid-19 cases and risk reports, and we hope to collaborate with them in the future for more specific and advanced data reports. We used Firebase by Google as our database to pull and extract the data from the Ministry of Health to our app.
Finally, we hope that YourHarmoni can minimise the spread of the virus as the country slowly shifts into the endemic phase where the government will start to lift many restrictions and SOPs. Through YourHarmoni, we hope that we can alert users the potential risks that users might face when they enter certain premises which have a recent history of covid 19 cases and close contacts, thereby minimising the possibility of getting infected.
Space Agency Data
We used data from numerous space agencies to get real time satelite data to track and get users' current location to give them accurate data of covid-19 cases in their area.
We also used the Government's data on covid-19 provided by the Ministry of Health to get daily covid-19 cases and close contacts.
In a larger scale, we expect to be able to use YourHarmoni in multiple countries for contact tracing, thus we rely on real time data of space agencies at the international level to properly get covid-19 cases in a specific country.
Hackathon Journey
1. It was a golden moment for us as a team. Every moment spent was irreplaceable and it gave us new experience and skills to learn together.
2. From this competition, namely Space Apps, we learnt a lot from developing an app to communicating effectively with each other. We learnt how to together fix an issue of programming or developing an app, we also learnt of how to understand each others roles and area of expertise.
3. Even before this challenge comes out, we already beared in our minds of solving this challenge we are already facing, the covid 19 pandemic. We realised that it is important for everybody to at least try overcoming this issue globally. We understand that safety and survival is humanity's first priority. Thus, we chose this challenge.
4. First of all, we decided to gather resources about the cases and contact tracing technology regarding the covid 19. We later utilise the resources into our app development process.
5. Setbacks such as miscommunication did occur in our process of development. However, we cleared up the confusion by having a live meeting through Google Meet and Zoom.
6. I would like to thank my family and my friends for their support and understanding. Whenever I feel burnt out, they are always there next to me throughout this competition. I am so appreciative to have the loyal, supportive and caring family that I do. They are my priceless gift, greater than anything I can imagine.
