Calvid19

High-Level Project Summary

There are potential risk factors that travelers have related to Covid-19. Developing a risk assessment and alerted application on Covid-19 is a very broad project. Our team has understood that the main risk factors to health, economy, and mobility. One of the most important economic activities is Tourism because it promotes the economy and the health of society. Therefore, we have decided to propose a Covid-19 risk assessment and information tool for travelers. The solution informs people of the number of cases that have occurred in the destination they wish to visit, to avoid contagion and providing them with correct recommendations to avoid the disease.

Detailed Project Description

How do we face this challenge?

This project seeks to implement the analysis with all the different data from countries infected with Covid-19. Our main objective is to inform people of what they should do to avoid the risk of covid-19, and to increase health security, as well as to inform them of the consequences of not taking the necessary measures.

How do we meet this challenge?

This project seeks to implement the analysis with all the different data from countries infected with Covid-19.

Our main objective is to inform people what they should do to avoid the risk of covid-19, increase health security, also inform them of the consequences of not taking the necessary measures and also inform them of the cases that exist in the countries of Colombia, Panama and Costa Rica, initially, from covid-19.

Knowing how people become infected with covid-19 is essential in order to take action to prevent people from becoming infected with this disease.

Basically, we propose an application where we will inform people about the risk of covid-19, who we are, what is covid-19, also the cases that have occurred in different countries and if the person wants to travel can be informed about the sicks of covid-19 in the destination and decide to travel or not.

This application works similarly to other application models, however, we try to use more data on a single device, such as tracking a nearby person with covid-19.

CALVID19 APPLICATION INFORMATION

It is an app created to locate and inform how many people are vaccinated, how many cases there are in the country as well as to show the number of deceased and in those places where we are here it will show us if there are positive cases of covid or if we are close to some people with covid which is based on the records and reports given by the Ministry of Health and so it becomes is easier for us not to expose ourselves or have contact with the infected.

This application will show us that we can be safe in those places without covid and it will also help every person using it to protect their health and the health of others.

In this application we will see the new strains of the coronavirus and how it has evolved in these years of pandemic, we will mention how these countries in which we announce in this application, how it has affected these new strains of covid19.

We will be able to see which vaccines are being used more in these countries and how their efficacy has been gradually improving the quality of life in these countries, and the decisions of how many doses should be administered according to the research that has been carried out.

Space Agency Data

We used several NASA resources to create this application to complete the information needed for this project, which were:

-GODDARD EARTH SCIENCES DATA AND INFORMATION SERVICES CENTER (GES DISK).

nasa earth data

-Socioeconomic Data and Applications Center (sedac)

Here is the material we found all the information:

Hackathon Journey

Our experience was educational, fun, and exciting thanks to Dr. Ivan Armuelles who motivated us, even more, to participate in this challenge.

We gained more knowledge about the Covid-19 issue, the behavior of the people and we learned that we should be informed about our country as we noticed that in other countries they do not give us much information about these cases.

We also learned how to work in a team, organize our time, and also a bit of the English language.
